Doctor Genius is a minor antagonist in the Sonic the Comic comic book series. He is a Mobian dog and mad scientist who wants to prove himself as the greatest criminal mind, but fails more often than not.
Biography[]
Sonic the Comic[]
Doctor Genius envied the heroes of Mobius for their fame and recognition, and hated them because of it. He planned to become the one to defeat them for once, and for this purpose created a force-field that made him untouchable. He used it to rob a bank, with Tails and security powerless to stop him. He realized, however, that he couldn't collect money with his force-field on, and turned it off, allowing Tails to swoop in and knock him out. Genius was put in prison, where he recited the story of his heist to the readers, only then coming to realize that those who called him "the greatest criminal mind ever" were being sarcastic.
Sonic the Comic Online![]
Doctor Genius returned as the leader of the second iteration of the League of Super-Evil Villains. When the villains of Mobius were under threat of a radical paramilitary group S.P.E.A.R., Genius hired an assassinto deal with their leadership, but he failed. Later, while on the run from authorities, he and Windy Wallis took refuge in the Metropolis City University and took a dean hostage. Tail sand Amy came to his rescue, when Windy and Genius attempted to stop them using the former's weather machine and the latter's force-field-equipped Eggrobos. Since Genius forgot to turn the Badniks' shields off before giving the order to fire, the Eggrobos ended up destroying themselves, and the villains were apprehended and arrested. Leader of S.P.E.A.R., Mr. Gold, later forced the two to work on the new series of Cyberniks in exchange for having their lives spared.
Personality[]
Doctor Genius is a very arrogant person, envious of those who are famous across Mobius, most notably Freedom Fighters like Sonic and Tails. In Online!, he appears to be jealous of villains deemed more threatening than him, such as Marxio Brothers, as well. Although he is great at building helpful devices, he's not as good at using them, often failing to take into account the drawbacks of his force-field.
