Rosny Spanngen, better known by his alias Doctor Londes, is the main antagonist of the Cowboy Bebop episode "Brain Scratch". He was a young boy who suffered from an accident that put him in a coma for the next two years. He was later able to somehow hack into online services and communicate with others, and created a group named Scratch to start a movement by using his alias Doctor Londes.
As Doctor Londes, he was voiced by the late Chikao Ootsuka in the Japanese version, and by the late Robert Axelford in the English dub. As Rosny, he was voiced by Yuu Hachinohe in Japanese.
History[]
Rosny was once a normal teenager like anyone else, until an accident happened that caused him to fall into a coma. While he was being taken care in a hospital for the next two years, Rosny would hack the Solar System's online data and use an alias named Doctor Londes, where he would convince people to "give up their souls" and become his followers.
He would later name his group of followers Scratch and make most of them fanatics. However, many of them would commit suicide, which by the time of the episode, had already amounted to 100 people, causing Londes to get a bounty of 38 million woolongs.
Later on, Spike was able to find Londes after he found Faye in a destroyed building with the same intent, and while Londes tried to convince Spike to join Scratch, Jet and Edward were able to find out about his real identity and deactivated his online connections and turned off Doctor Londes. He then breaks down and panics, asking what he did to deserve it and begged for them to keep him online, but they refused.
Jet would later allow Rosny to continue to be in a hospital rather than giving him in so he could have his bounty, and Edward hoped that Rosny would have better dreams this time.
