Neal Emerson, better known as Doctor Polaris, is a supporting antagonist in Justice League: Unlimited. He is an ambitious member of the Secret Society of Super Villains that tries to become its new leader by killing Lex Luthor, but fails once the latter tricks Polaris by reversing his magnetic abilities.
Doctor Polaris helps Lex Luthor and The Key break into a top secret abandoned military facility on Black Hawk Island to retrieve the Spear of Destiny. They encounter resistance from Chuck Sirianni and Justice League members Hawkgirl, The Flash and Fire who show up and try to stop them, but they all get away and go back to the Legion of Doom.
In the episode "The Great Brain Robbery" Polaris expresses serious doubts about Luthor's self appointed leadership to the point of wanting to overthrow him. Regardless he aids the Legion in their plot to steal a shipment of 100 million newly minted Euros from Kaznia believing it the largest single robbery in history, but gets foiled by the League.
At their headquarters they capture Luthor because it was Flash who switched bodies with him. When they switched back Polaris tried to murder Luthor and take control of the Secret Society, but Lex turns Polaris' power back on himself imprisoning him in metal shards.
His fate is unknown though it is likely that Polaris was executed for his treachery by Luthor or one of his underlings.

Doctor Polaris calls himself a ferrokinetic which is an individual with the ability to manipulate and control iron-based metals; however Polaris' power is actually magnetokinesis like the one he has in the comics.
