Dodo is a minor antagonist in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its 3D remake, Super Mario RPG. He is Valentina's right-hand minion and pet.
Appearance[]
Dodo is a fat blackbird with a red tipped toucan-like beak.
Biography[]
Before the events of game, Dodo hatched out of his egg at the moment Valentina was near, so he mistakenly believed Valentina was his mother. Dodo was raised by Valentina and later discovered that she's not his mother, yet he decided to serve her as she was the closest thing to a family he has and cannot ignore it.
Valentina took control of Nimbus Land and got Dodo to impersonate the true prince, Mallow. She imprisoned the true king and told the citizens that he was very ill and may die, and then planned to make herself queen by marrying 'Mallow'.
Mario snuck into the palace disguised as a statue. Dodo was assigned to polish the statues, and Mario had to avoid getting pecked with his beak. If he is successful, Dodo will leave behind a feather which can boost Mario's speed and defense. If he is unsuccessful, the player will have to face Dodo in an early boss fight.
He joins Valentina to fight the heroes later on, during which Dodo took the middle character of the party to a separate area to fight alone. Once he gets beaten by the middle character, he rejoins Valentina, while the middle character rejoins the party. Once the part defeats Valentina and Dodo, they left from Nimbus Land. Afterwards, they can be seen in Booster's Tower, where Booster is proposing to Valentina.
