Org Ninja Dokusai is the leader of the Sorcerers Clan and the main antagonist of the 1988 Tokusatsu series World Ninja Battle Jiraiya. He is a sinister ninja who seeks to obtain the Pako so he can use it for his own desires.
He was once a student of the Togakure-ryu who trained under its 33rd grandmaster alongside Tetsuzan Yamaji, until his greed for the Pako led him to try and steal the clay board giving away the Pako's location, leading it to be broken in half. At the start of the series, Dokusai and his clan possess one half of the board, while the Yamaji family has the other.
He is voiced by Shozo Izuka and portrayed in suit by stuntman Noriaki Kaneda.
History[]
Past[]
Dokusai was originally a student alongside Tetsuzan of the Tokagure school, which was responsible for guarding the clay board that told the Pako's location. However, Dokusai's greed eventually overcame him and he attempted to steal the clay board so he could claim the Pako for himself. Tetsuzan fought him to stop him from stealing it, and in the process the clay board was split in half, with Dokusai grabbing one half and making his escape while leaving the other half with Tetsuzan. Dokusai later formed the Sorcerers Clan to retrieve the other half of the map and unearth the Pako.
Years later, some time after Tetsuzan became the new master of the Tokagure style, the Sorcerers Clan made their move to steal the other half of the clay board. Dokusai led the Sorcerers Clan in an attack on the Togakure-ryu to steal the other half of the clay board and fought Tetsuzan again. Though he did not claim both halves of the board, Dokusai killed Tetsuzan's wife with a stray shuriken before fleeing, leaving the Yamaji children without a mother.
World Ninja War[]
Eventually, surfaced eight years following their last attack to make another attempt to steal the map from the Tokagure school. They began by calling the World Ninjas and notifying them that the Yamaji family held the clay board, setting up a battle between the Tokagure School and the World Ninjas. The Sorcerers Clan then attacked the Yamaji family dojo and Dokusai dueled his old classmate for possession of the Pako. While Tetsuzan and Toha were able to guard the clay board, Dokusai and his followers kidnapped Tetsuzan's daughter Kei to hold her ransom for the other half. Retsukiba was sent to the meeting spot, a skylift, to exchange Kei for the clay board. However, rather than hand the board over, Toha instead became Jiraiya and managed to save Kei from the Sorcerers Clan while keeping the map half safe.
Later, after Baron Owl arrived in Japan, Dokusai met with him to propose an alliance to steal the clay board, but Baron Owl refused and revealed he knew that Dokusai had called other World Ninjas to Japan and was just using him. He further stated that he intended to take the Pako for himself and use it mourn all the Christians who had been slaughtered under Japan's persecution of Christianity in the past before riding off on his horse.
Dokusai would go on to formulate multiple schemes to obtain the Pako by tricking other World Ninjas into battling Jiraiya. To raise more funds for his plan, Dokusai would hire out the Sorcerers Clan to assist in criminal operations.
Unearthing the Behemoth and Jiraishin[]
Dokusai's search for more power would eventually lead him to seek out Gohma, a colossal beast which had been locked away long ago. In order to reawaken it, Dokusai sought out a magic skull which would grant him command over the beast and summoned two mercenaries, Killer and Commando, to provide backup to the Sorcerers Clan's offensive to claim it. After stealing the skull from a family of archaeologists who had unearthed it, Dokusai used the skull to awaken Gohma and bring it under his control. He was also able to capture Jiraiya by taking the family hostage and threatening them to force Toha to lay down his sword. With Jiraiya captured, Dokusai was also able to obtain the other half of the clay board and reunite it with his half to complete the map to the Pako.
In response to the awakening of Gohma, however, Tetsuzan and Rei followed instructions left behind by the alien who had brought Pako to Earth to summon Jiraishin, a gigantic mecha built by Prince Shoutoku based on Pako's technology. Seeing this, Dokusai ordered Gohma to destroy the mecha while it was still stationary before it could become a threat. After Toha was freed by Rei however, he became Jiraiya and entered the mecha to pilot it against Gohma. Dokusai then leapt onto Gohma and commanded it to attack Jiraishin, but in the ensuing battle Jiraishin destroyed Gohma and the Yamaji family were able to claim the now completed clay board from him. Having lost both Gohma and the clay board, Dokusai reluctantly retreated with the rest of his clan.
Race for the Pako[]
Despite losing Gohma, the Sorcerers Clan would soon receive a new key player when Witch Ninja Madam Spider arrived in Japan to assist Dokusai in his efforts to obtain the Pako. During their meeting, Dokusai revealed to the Witch Ninja that he had been holding back his power to get the Yamaji family to lower their guards. At the same time Madam Spider arrived in Japan however, a new competitor for the Pako would emerge in the form of Demost - a Space Ninja sealed away by Jiraiya's ancestor who was set free by the rumblings caused by Jiraiya's emergence. Dokusai attempted to convince Demost to ally with him but Demost refused, correctly guessing that Dokusai planned to betray him as soon as Jiraiya was defeated.
Later, as the planet Dark Star approached Earth, the Pako's location at the foot of Mt. Kongo would become unearthed. Dokusai and the Sorcerers, the Yamaji family and their allies, and various other World Ninjas all made plays to get to the Pako, with the Yamaji family managing to reach it first. After Jiraiya and Rei awakened the Pako however, they learned that it had been sent by the Dark Star to conquer Earth, and that its people were now coming to Earth to destroy Pako for giving up on the mission. Despite this revelation, Dokusai and his followers still quested after the Pako's power for their own ends. They captured it after it was summoned again by Jiraiya and brought it to one of their hideouts, only for Demost to appear to claim it and give it an opportunity to flee during the scuffle.
Following Demost's destruction, Dokusai made a final play to get to the Pako, which had sealed itself inside Jiraishin. To hold off Jiraiya and his allies, Dokusai had Madam Spider use her crystal ball to summon the spirits of World Ninjas Uha, Makumba, Abdad, Lu-Long, Chang Kung-Fu Jr., Gyuma, Parchis, Silver Shark, Strowver and Demost to attack Jiraiya. Dokusai's army of spirits fought against Jiraiya, Emiha, Reiha, Manabu and Baron Owl while Tetsuzan went to find Dokusai's location. After Mafuuba, Wild and Rocket Man showed up and assisted the heroic ninjas in defeating the resurrected World Ninjas, Tetsuzan ambushed Madam Spider and destroyed her crystal ball. Dokusai then attacked Tetsuzan and sent the rest of his clan to hold off Jiraiya and his allies. Though Dokusai managed to overpower Tetsuzan, Jiraiya and his allies defeated the Sorcerers Clan ninjas and appeared to intervene in the fight. Cornered, Dokusai called upon the spirits of the 10 slain World Ninjas to perform one last technique - making himself grow giant.
The giant-sized Dokusai assaulted Jiraishin, but Jiraiya was able to enter the mecha and pilot it against Dokusai. In a tough battle, Jiraiya was able to defeat Dokusai and revert him back to his normal size. With Dokusai beaten, Jiraiya exited Jiraishin and the Pako used it to fly into space and lead the Dark Star away from Earth, averting Earth's destruction. Despite the Pako having left, Dokusai refused to give up his crusade and challenged Jiraiya to a final duel. While Madam Spider battled Tetsuzan, Dokusai fought Jiraiya one-on-one as the other World Ninjas cheered Jiraiya on. When Jiraiya sliced off Dokusai's mask, Dokusai changed his face to that of Tetsuzan in order to throw Jiraiya off guard. After Jiraiya refused to be fooled by Dokusai's tricks, Dokusai dropped his disguise and revealed that in fact he had no face at all, just a blank void under his mask. Dokusai and Jiraiya then brought up their blades to strike each other again, creating a cloud of smoke that obstructed who won. Though Dokusai damaged one of Jiraiya's shoulder pads, Jiraiya managed to land a critical hit on Dokusai, and finish him off just as the smoke cleared.

Allies[]
- Benikiba - Benikiba is Dokusai's daughter and one of his two lead henchmen. Though a heartless man, Dokusai values Benikiba and is willing to give up on a mission if her safety is in jeopardy, such as when he gave up Jiraiya's sword to Vermillion Lizard after he threatened her life.
- Retsukiba - Retsukiba is Dokusai's other lead henchman and the one he usually entrusts to carry out missions in the field. Dokusai also seems to value him to an extent, not letting him face Demonic Ninja Sylvia as she was too strong for him.

- Chang Kung-Fu - Chang Kung-Fu was one of the three ninjas who expressed interest in Dokusai's endeavor to claim the Pako. The Sorcerers Clan later teamed up with Chang Kung-Fu in episode 4 to claim the Pako and split it, as Chang hoped to use it to become immortal.

Despite this, Dokusai decided to keep cooperating with Kurozaru in order to defeat Jiraiya.

Enemies[]

- Rei Yagyu/Reiha - Rei is another ninja opposed to Dokusai, and comes to Japan to investigate his clan's schemes and assist Jiraiya.
- Baron Owl - Though Dokusai originally sought to ally with Baron Owl, Owl refused as he sought to use the Pako for peaceful purposes instead of malicious ones like Dokusai desired.

After Oruha chose to leave the Paper Ninja Clan, Retsukiba killed Mimura in retaliation for ripping them off. Dokusai would later blackmail Oruha into killing Toha by kidnapping his lover Kasumi, before giving away Oruha's location to the Paper Ninja Clan he had deserted from.
- Rocket Man - The Sorcerers Clan framed Rocket Man for a series of bombings and later tried to trick him into fighting Jiraiya, only for Rocket Man to uncover their scheme and team up with Jiraiya to stop them. The Space Ninja refused, correctly deducing that Dokusai planned to betray him as soon as Jiraiya was defeated. Despite this, the two later teamed up in episode 46 to turn the World Ninjas against Jiraiya by spreading rumors that the Togakure school was keeping the Pako to themselves. The two split up after the episode. Demost would later compete with Dokusai to claim the Pako once it was unearthed by the Dark Star's approach.
