Dominic Dawson is the main antagonist of the 9-1-1 Season 6 episode "Death and Taxes".
He is a criminal who is arrested by Athena for embezzling money from a homeless charity. He subsequently fakes his death in an attempt to escape justice.
He was portrayed by Walter Belenky.
Biography[]
Athena arrives at the home of Dominic Dawson, who has an arrest warrant for purchasing a yacht with stolen funds from a homeless charity he manages. She and other officers break down the door and search the house. Dominic has locked himself in the bathroom, and just as they prepare to use the battering ram, he emerges after flushing the toilet.
In Athena's patrol car, Dominic keeps asking questions until he loses consciousness. Athena contacts dispatch, and Maddie assists her until a rescue unit arrives. Paramedics take over and confirm he has a pulse, so Athena assigns officers to monitor him. Later at the station, she learns that Dominic has died.
Subsequently, Athena visits the morgue on unofficial business to gather more information about his cause of death. However, the coroner, Luann Maldonado, informs her that it will take another day or two due to a bus accident downtown but offers Athena an unofficial look at the body. When Luann opens the bag, it turns out not to be Dominic.
The body in the morgue is identified as Seth Davis. Officers discover a medication bottle in Dominic’s bathroom, indicating he took just enough to overdose without intending to commit suicide. Athena calls Bobby, who theorizes that the crowded ER following the bus crash provided the opportunity for Dominic to switch hospital bracelets. She realizes that he returned home because she informed him of how long the officers would be there.
Athena and other officers catch Dominic in the act at his house and successfully take him into custody. Unfortunately, he collapses again at the station, and Athena and Captain Maynard attempt to revive him. The 118 arrives after they have been trying for seven minutes, but despite Hen and Ravi's efforts, they cannot bring him back. They wait a moment before calling the morgue to confirm his death once again.
