~ One of Dominic Torreto's famous quotes in The Fast and The Furious.
Dominic Toretto is the main protagonist of The Fast and The Furious franchise, starting off as the anti-heroic deuteragonist of the first film, a cameo character in The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift, then the protagonist in Fast and Furious, Fast Five, Fast and Furious 6, Fast and Furious 7, The Fate of the Furious, and F9. He is a well-known street racer in Los Angeles before becoming a secret agent for Mr. Nobody, tasked to stop other villains from taking over the world, notably Cipher, who was responsible for kidnapping Dominic's son, Brian, and had him betray his crew members in order to follow her orders. He is the older brother of both Jakob Toretto and Mia Toretto.
He was portrayed by Vin Diesel in almost all of The Fast and the Furious franchise except in 2 Fast 2 Furious and makes a cameo appearance in The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift. He is also voiced by Vin Diesel in the critically-panned racing video game Fast & Furious Crossroads.
Dominic is a person who enjoys street racing and stealing shipments in order to earn profit and respect, and is very prideful of his status. Although he is brash and serious, he does show level of respect towards his crew members, including Brian O'Connor who, instead of arresting him, lets Dominic evade police after a drag race gone wrong. He is also shown to be caring for his wife, Letty, along with his sister Mia. He was shown to be vituperative towards his own brother, Jakob, who was supposedly responsible for the death of their father, but did saved him after Otto has no use for Jakob anymore and had tried to kill him before Dominic stepped in to save his brother.
He was also shown to be caring for his son, Brian, teaching him the basics. He also viewed Brian O'Connor as a family member of his crew, treating him as his brother-in-law after his desertion from the police force. Being a street racer, he initially drives the Mazda RX-7, but has grown a fondness of classic muscle cars, especially his signature vehicle, the 1970 Dodge Charger.
Cars Driven by Dominic Toretto
Mazda RX-7: A modified, red-colored sports car first seen in The Fast and The Furious in a race against Brian O'Connor. After winning the race, it was soon interrupted when a large number of police cars arrive, causing the street race gathering to disperse, with Dominic evading the police inside the parking lot for a brief moment, leaving the RX-7 behind. The car was seen a second and last time arriving at his house and it was not seen ever since.
1970 Dodge Charger: Dominic's signature car, in which it was seen in almost all of The Fast and The Furious films (except 2 Fast 2 Furious and The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift). It is a black-colored muscle car with a modified V8 engine and wheels, capable of popping wheelies upon takeoff. Despite it being destroyed several times throughout the movies, the Dodge Charger seems to resurface through reasons unknown. In The Fate of The Furious, the Dodge Charger was given extreme modifications to be able to race on the snow and ice, and was even fitted with a large, rocket turbine in the back.
Vin Diesel also portrayed Riddick in The Chronicles of Riddick franchise, even voiced him in the video game version. He had also provided voicework for Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
Ironically, Vin Diesel was also in a relationship with Michelle Rodriguez, who portrayed as Letty in the Fast and the Furious franchise.
