Your kind never deserved the power you were given. I am Ghaul. And your Light… is mine.
~ Ghaul meeting The Guardian face to face.

Dominus Ghaul is a major antagonist in the Destiny franchise. He is the overarching antagonist in the Destiny: The Taken King and Destiny: Rise of Iron DLC expansions of the original Destiny, the main antagonist of Destiny 2's campaign, and a minor antagonist in its DLCs.

Ghaul is the leader of the Red Legion and known for his devastating attack of the Last City, during which he captured the Traveller and temporarily severed the Guardians from their immortality.

Due to the Red Legion using the Sundial in Season of Dawn to change history (literally) and obtain a different outcome to the Red War, and Ghaul being dead by that point, he is the overarching antagonist of Season of Dawn. He is this also for the Season of the Worthy, as the remaining Red Legion on the Almighty choosed to put the superweapon into a collision course towards the Last City.
