Saint Donquixote Mjosgard is a supporting character in the One Piece franchise, originally started out as an antagonist in a flashback during the Fishman Island arc, only to later become an ally during the recent Levely in the Egghead Island Arc, which resulted in his execution.
He is voiced by the late Tetsuo Gotō in his first appearance, who was best known as the voice of Hannyabal in One Piece, and Dr. Z from Dinosaur King. He was later voiced by Masami Kikuchi, who voiced Kikono from Dragon Ball Super: Broly, and Akihiro Kurata from Digimon Data Squad. While his English voice done by Dallas Reid.
History[]
Born to the Donquixote Family, he is the son of Donquixote Shivercalero. As such, making him a relative to Donquixote Doflamingo.
Mjosgard first appeared in a flashback during the Fishman Island arc, where his ship was attacked on the Sea Floor by sea creatures, as he barely survived the journey as he crashed into the island, revealing himself as the sole survivor of the journey. Turns out that he came to Fishman Island to take back his former slaves, who escape thanks to Fisher Tiger freeing them, and proclaiming that he spent a lot of money to buy and own them. He also rants about wanting someone to get him a mask and doctor to fixed him up. While most of the citizen are afraid of Mjosgard, by coincidence a group of fishmen arrived, revealing themselves as Mjosgard's slaves, who attempted to kill him for all the things he did to them when they were slaves to him, with them even knowing that the citizens will stay quiet that his death was from the journey and not by the Fishmen.
However just as one of the former slaves pulled the trigger, Mjosgard was saved by Queen Otohime, who didn't want the children to witness their actions and wanted to end the hatred between the fish-men and humans. Unfortunately, despite being rescued Mjosgard held Otohime hostage and plans to kill her if he doesn't get a mask and a doctor, however upon Shirahoshi's crying for her mother, which somehow summoned numerous Sea Kings in front of him, causing him to scream and passed out.
Sometime Lter, Mjosgard, who was taken care of, was allowed to return home to Mary Geoise, while uncharacteristically allowing Otohime to come with him to talk to the World Nobles, which resulted in her getting a written approval that will allow her and her family to join in the upcoming Levely.
Later during the Levely Arc, when Saint Charlos attempted to claim Shirahoshi for his own pet and even order Rob Lucci OF CP0 to Kill King Neptune when he tried to attack him, Mjosgard (who was later revealed to be a member of the Donquixote family) arrived and attack Charlos with a large club, sending him flying across the field, and order Charlos' slave to let her go. As the other royals were surprised that a Celestial Dragon actually saved a Royal, Mjosgard apologize for Charlos' action as it was revealed that during the time he and Queen Otohime went to Mary Geoise, Mjosgard changed as he now viewed himself as a human and even agreed to watch over Shirahoshi to make sure no one else would take her as a slave, even giving permission for Leo and Sai to attack anyone and he will take full responsibility.
When Saint Rosward later arrived to pick up his son, he learns of what happened and mention how Mjogard was different than other World Nobles, such as freeing his own slaves and never buying any more of them and even comparing him to Donquixote Doflamingo's Father Donquixote homing, who was known to be a world noble, who forgo of his status and lived with the normal people.
then a flashback during the Wano Country Arc, When the Revolutionary Army started to invade Mary Geoise and the home of the World Nobles, Mjosgard discover that Charlos use this as a way to get Shirahoshi as his pet, However Mjosgard then granted premission Leo and Sai to attack Charlos to save her, and claimed full responsibility.
However, in the Egghead Island Arc, it was revealed that due to his actions of not only letting Sai and Leo escape punishment for what they did to Charlos but saved Shirahoshi from being own by Charlos, which was frown by the other World Nobles, was then crucified and executed by Figarland Garling, who was known as the head of the God's Holy Knights, labelling him as worse than trash for protecting Shirahoshi.
