Dora Boogaranan was a frog-themed Dora monster who could swallow the Zyurangers, either via an energy beam produced by his horn or by simply grabbing them with his tongue and swallowing them whole. He is the antagonist of Kyouryu Sentai Zyuranger episode 26.
He was voiced by Toku Nishio.
History[]
Dora Boogaranan was created and sent to fight the Zyurangers while two of them, Dan and Mei, were under the influence of a potion created by Totpat. Due to his nearly invulnerable body, Dora Boogaranan proved to have an overwhelming advantage over the Zyurangers. During their initial confrontation, Dora Boogaranan fired a tongue-shaped energy beam from his horn at Boi, the TigerRanger, transforming him into a ball of energy, and then swallowed him. Dora Boogaranan easily fended off Geki and Goushi, the remaining two Zyurangers, forcing them to retreat.
Upon their return, Dora Boogaranan continued to fight Geki and Goushi. The Zyurangers struck his face, believing it to be his weak spot, but this strategy failed. Dora Boogaranan then fired the beam from his horn and turned Goushi, the MammothRanger, into an energy ball and swallowed him as well.
Dora Boogaranan continued to fight Geki, the lone TyrannoRanger, and continued to dominate the battle. He nearly fired his energy beam at Geki as well, but Dan and Mei, now cured of Totpat's potion, arrived just in time to stop him. Dora Boogaranan fought the three Zyurangers and Dan and Mei cut his horn off with their Ranger Sticks. In response, Dora Boogaranan shot out his long tongue and wrapped it around Geki. He then pulled Geki into his mouth and swallowed him whole. However, as Dora Boogaranan swallowed Geki, he revealed his weak spot; his "true face" beneath his neck folds. Aware of Boogaranan's weak spot, Dan planned to sacrifice himself, allowing Mei a chance to strike. Dan leapt at Dora Boogaranan, making himself an easy target, and Dora Boogaranan caught him with his tongue and swallowed him. However, before Mei could hit Boogaranan's weak spot, Totpat suddenly arrived and pushed her down, causing her to miss her shot. Dora Boogaranan then struck Mei with his tongue, severely weakening her. Mei retreated into the forest and Dora Boogaranan and Totpat gave chase.
Dora Boogaranan and Totpat lost sight of Mei and, while hiding, she devised a plan of attack. Mei then revealed herself to Dora Boogaranan and Totpat, seeming to surrender. Dora Boogaranan and Totpat took the bait and Boogaranan wrapped its tongue around Mei, preparing to eat her. However, Mei then leapt into the air, activating a trap she had set that fired several arrows into Dora Boogaranan's weak spot. He fell over and released the four swallowed Zyurangers. The Zyurangers then came together and delivered a devastating onslaught against Boogaranan. Mei then delivered the killing blow by firing an arrow into Dora Boogaranan's mouth, causing him to explode.
