Dorian Gates is a fictional character and supporting antagonist of the long-running British soap opera EastEnders, appearing only as a major antagonist in 2023.

He is portrayed by Luke J I Smith.

Biography

Dorian Gates is known to be a boxing promoter who operated in London not far from Albert Square in Walford, a fictional borough in East London, prior to his arrival in September 2023.

When he arrived, it transpired that he was friends with pub landlord George Knight and is offered a partnership with his associate Phil Mitchell and his former wife Sharon Watts at the local gym. From then onwards Dorian goes into partnership with Sharon and they start a relationship after he learns about her past with Phil, who is now remarried to her friend Kat Slater.

Later on, Dorian arranges for George and Phil to promote fighters for a tournament to raise money together. This is successful until George and Phil learn that Dorian had been fixing matches and ripping off Sharon all along. It is then Sharon's ex-lover, Keanu Taylor, learns about this and he informs Sharon in the aftermath of the tournament. Sharon thereupon cuts her ties with Dorian, and he resorts to extorting money from her before going as far as to threaten Sharon and Keanu with the life of their young son Alfie unless he gets full payment from her despite his ulterior motives being exposed.
