~ Achimoff explaining his plan to Dora Med. |
Dr. Achimoff is one of the main antagonists of the Doraemon franchise, specifically appearing in The Doraemons series. He is a mad scientist who is bent on taking over the world, even if it means kidnapping and blackmailing others into doing his bidding. He is also one of the titular Doraemons' archenemies. He lives inside a massive hovering fortress that he built, and often seeks to take the Doraemons' Friendship Telecards to gain enough power and rule the world.
How dangerous and malevolent he is vary from story to story, but the original ones depict him as one of the few villains the Doraemons are really afraid of, despite being more ruthless than evil.
He was voiced by Banjō Ginga, who also voiced Gihren Zabi in Mobile Suit Gundam, Heihachi Mishima in Tekken, Liquid Snake, Revolver Ocelot, and Zero in Metal Gear Solid, ENeMeE and the Customer Service in Kirby: Right Back At Ya!, Crocomire in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, Souther in Fist of the North Star, Astaroth in Soul Caliber, Caponero in Armored Fleet Dairugger XV, Clayton (Disney) in the Japanese dub of Disney's Tarzan and Zatola in Star Musketeer Bismark, as well as going on to voice another Doraemon villain years later, Demaon in Doraemon: Nobita's New Great Adventure into the Underworld ~The 7 Magic Users~.
Appearance[]
Dr. Achimoff is an old man with white hair and beard shaped like horns, giving him a devilish appearance. His right eye is mechanical, meaning that he either lost his real one long ago or is wearing an enhanced monocle. He wears dark purple clothes with a cloak, and black booths. On his robe's center, there's a symbol of an eye.
In the manga, his hair and beard are black.
Personality[]
A typical mad scientist, Dr. Achimoff always dreams of taking over the world and wants to take valuable devices that would allow him to do so. He is also very childish, always throwing tantrums when things don't go his way. Additionally, Achimoff doesn't hesitate to harm children, as shown when he threatens to choke Mimimi to death with a collar to blackmail Dorapin into his service, and attempts to kill Robin unless Dora the Kid gives him the energy beads.
History[]
Dr. Achimoff is a mad scientist who desires to take over the world, and built a massive hovering fortress for himself to live in. When he learns of the Friendship Telecards' existence, he plots to take them from the Doraemons. This leads to him clashing with them several times, with some notable cases.
In The Puzzling Challenge Letter of the Mysterious Thief Dorapan, having blackmailed the famous thief Dorapin into becoming his servant by threatening to choke the latter's love Mimimi to death with a collar, Achimoff orders Dorapin to take the Doraemons' cards which contain a powerful energy to activate his machine, while disguising his lair as a technology-advanced flying fortress on Paris' sky. Dorapin successfully turns most of the team into statues, except for Dora Med III and Dora-rinho.
After Dorapin successfully turns Dora-rinho into statue, Dora Med chases him in anger. When Med invades Achimoff's fortress, he threatens to destroy the latter's machine, much to Achimoff's horror. Achimoff then orders Dorapin to turn Med into statue. Seeing that Dorapin is just a victim of manipulation, Med tells him that he's a good person before accepting his fate. Achimoff then flies his fortress into space and uses the cards to activate his machine. When Dorapin asks to free Mimimi, Achimoff reveals that he lied before electrocuting him and sadistically taunting him for believing his lies. Angered and realize the mad scientist's true colors, Dorapin uses a card that Med gave him to destroy the button of Mimimi's collar (located on Achimoff's golden tooth), freeing her. Angered, Achimoff escapes while Dorapin turns the Doraemons back to normal. Achimoff then throws them all into vacuum space, but thanks to the Doraemons' various gadgets, they survive, much to his anger as he turns his fortress into a gigantic robot to kill them all. However the Doraemons and Dorapin team up and destroy the robot. Achimoff then escapes back to Earth, only to be captured by the police.
Achimoff returns in Doki Doki Wildcat Engine, having somehow escaped prison. Knowing that the Doraemons are carrying a mission to carry a special device, he attempts to kill them by crashing the train they're on. Despite his multiple attempts such as derailing it into a river and throwing a gigantic rock at it, the Doraemons always save the train, much to his anger as Achimoff decides to directly attack the train itself. He sends his minions to attack the Doraemons while he holds Robin hostage, forcing Dora the Kid to give him the device. However, Robin tramples on his feet, much to Achimoff's pain as he falls outside the train and she retakes the device.
Achimoff then uses a gigantic robot to attack the train. However, the Doraemons team up and defeat it, sending him flying away as he vows revenge.
In Goal! Goal! Goal!!, Achimoff appears and challenges the Doraemons in a football game, with the rival team being composed of his robots. He makes multiple attempts to defeat them, but failed. In his last resort, he creates a gigantic wall with his insulting face to stop them from scoring. However the Doraemons team up and use force to destroy the wall and score, much to his dismay.
