Dr. Alan Feinstone is the mentally disturbed antagonist of The Dentist horror film franchise.

He was portrayed by Corbin Bernsen.

History

Once a successful dentist with a beautiful wife, a happy home and a good reputation: however he was also obsessed with order and cleanliness. He is driven insane when he witnesses his wife having sex with their filthy poolman and begins to have violent delusions, seeing everything as horribly decayed - this soon turns his job into a nightmare as he envisions innocent patients as being horribly diseased and in order to "cure" them he inflicts horrific mutilations on them.

Trivia

  • He is loosely based on the real-life serial killer Dr. Glennon Engleman (who was also a dentist).
    • Additionally, his alias in the second film "Lawrence Caine", is also a possible reference to real-life con artist Lawrence Kane, a prime suspect in the Zodiac Killer case.
