“ | In exactly twenty minutes, this laser beam will blow up the moon and send huge chunks of it crashing down upon every major city in the world! Then, I will rise from the rubble and take over the planet! | „ |
~ Dr. Diaper telling George, Harold and Captain Underpants his evil plan. |
Dr. Diaper is the main antagonist of The Adventures of Captain Underpants and a minor character in Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants and Captain Underpants and the Preposterous Plight of the Purple Potty People, installments of the Captain Underpants franchise.
He is an evil scientist who plans to blow up the moon using his Lazer-Matic 2000 and conquer the Earth. An alternate version of the character appears in Captain Underpants and the Preposterous Plight of the Purple Potty People as a minor character.
History[]
His plan is to destroy the moon with the Lasermatic 2000 and all the big hunks of it would come crashing down on Earth, destroying every major city. This chaos would allow him to take over the planet. He had his robots steal a large jewel from a jewelry shop used to power the machine.
However, George flung fake dog poop at him, making him think he had an accident. As he went to change, George and Harold defeated the robots and destroyed the machine. When Dr. Diaper came back, Captain Underpants threw his underpants at him. When the four of them escaped, Dr. Diaper was placed on a pole near the police station and soon taken to jail.
Appearance[]
Dr. Diaper is a small, short (as if he didn't have a torso) man wearing a diaper and his hair is similar to Tippy Tinkletrousers’s hair.

Trivia[]
- Dr. Diaper is the only Captain Underpants antagonist whose origin remains a mystery.
- Besides Sir Stinks-A-Lot and the Bionic Booger Boy, he is the only other character that neither Harold nor George helped create. However, it could be argued that they WERE also responsible for their creation, given that they drove Melvin to seek retribution and got all of their teachers to check themselves into the Piqua Home of the Reality Challenged. Had they not done those two things, neither of those villains would have come into existence.
- The toilets were brought to live by the PATSY 2000, Zorx, Klax & Jennifer entered the school subsequent to the original cafeteria ladies resigning due to pranks played by George and Harold, Tippy Tinkletrousers was provoked into evil by George and Harold's pranks, Wedgie Woman was hypnotized, and Melvin's evil remained with Carl, Trixie, and Frankenbooger, Captain Blunderpants, Evil George, and Evil Harold served as evil counterparts to Captain Underpants, George, and Harold, and the Wedgie Magee was made up.
- Dr. Diaper makes a cameo in The Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants as one of the inmates laughing at the title character. This makes him one of the few characters introduced in The Adventures of Captain Underpants to make more than one appearance.
- In an alternate universe where good and evil are swapped (home of Captain Blunderpants), Dr. Diaper is a nice police officer.
- In The Terrifying Re-Turn of Tippy Tinkletrousers, Tinkletrousers travels back in time and causing Mr. Krupp to lose his job as school principal. As a result, he was never turned into Captain Underpants and Dr. Diaper was never defeated. He was successful in blowing up the moon and destroying the city. However, it was revealed that he then got eaten by one of the talking toilets.
- Additionally, at the beginning of the book, Dr. Diaper was mentioned to have testified as a witness in the trial of George, Harold and Krupp for the crimes of their evil world counterparts.
- Professor Poopypants technically fills in Dr. Diaper's role in Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. He takes his role as the first villain who uses robots as henchmen and after that George and Harold face off against the Talking Toilets, Captain Underpants' second main villains. Near the end of the movie, he is mentioned by name in a comic read by Captain Underpants.
- In the British edition of the first book, his name is changed to Dr Nappy, which is what diapers are called outside North America.
- He is one of the rare villains that is still alive and well. The only other villains who have not been killed or eliminated are Mr. Krupp, Melvin Sneedly, Ms. Ribble, Evil George, Evil Harold, Captain Blunderpants, Kipper Krupp, his gang, and Mr. Meaner.
