Dr. Erasmus Pea is the main antagonist of the 2005 British dark comedy film The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse. He is a character from a planned historical Gothic titled The King's Evil, in which he is an evil chemist hired to help in a plot to kill the king. Once discovering he is a fictional character, he makes it his mission to track down his creators: the League of Gentlemen.

He was portrayed by the late David Warner, who also portrayed Ra's al Ghul in Batman: The Animated Series, Alpha in Men In Black: The Series, Spicer Lovejoy in Titanic , Amos Hackshaw in Cast a Deadly Spell, The Lobe in Freakazoid, Jon Irenicus in Baldur's Gate 2, Ed Dillinger, Sark and the MCP in Tron, Nergal in The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, and The Evil Genius in Time Bandits.

History[]

Within the fictional world of The King's Evil, Dr Pea is approached by three men, Sir Nicholas Sheet-Lightning, Lemuel Blizzard and Father Halfhearte to help them out in their plot to assassinate King William III. He uses the three of them to summon a creature known as the homunculus, who can kill somebody simply with its venomous touch. They send the creature to touch the King and kill him, however the plot is interrupted by Geoff Tipps, who originates from another fictional world creating by the League of Gentlemen centered around Royston Vasey, and has inserted himself into The King's Evil plot as a hero. Geoff saves the King and kills the creature and is honored.

Dr Pea kidnaps Geoff and takes him back to his hideout to be tortured. Geoff confesses that they are fictional, which interests Dr. Pea, and he tortures Geoff further to find out more information about their creators.

Dr. Pea has Geoff bring him to the world of Royston Vasey, where the League of Gentlemen Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Reece Sheersmith are being kept. Father Halfhearte accidentally shoots Pemberton dead, and Dr. Pea is determined to get his hands on the writers. He attempts to convince Royston Vasey character Hilary Briss to leave his world and join him, but Briss turns down his offer. Dr Pea sets upon a giant three headed homunculus, created with three of his fellow fictional characters who he slayed, and forces Briss to battle the creature. Although Briss manages to successfully kill it, Dr. Pea stabs Briss in the back and kills him.

Following his execution of Briss, Dr. Pea attempts to kill Geoff, however Geoff uses a piece of the homunculus to poison pea, which shrinks him into the shape of a pea and kills him.
