Dr.Ferdinand is a minor antagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run. He is a geologist working under Funny Valentine, tasked with recovering the Saint's Corpse from Gyro Zeppeli and Johnny Joestar. He wields the Stand known as Scary Monsters which he uses to control Diego Brando.
Personality[]
As a geologist Ferdinand has a great appreciation for the Earth and gets angered quickly with Johnny Joestar for littering on it. While he respects Dinosaurs for being rulers of the Earth in the past, he is of the belief they disrespected the soil and that their animalistic brains couldn't understand the true value of the Earth leading to their extinction. Ferdinand is loyal to the president Valentine and goes about a plan to recover the Saint's corpse for the President, so he can bring glory to the country.

In 1888,Ferdinand travelled to a Devils Palm and gained a Stand he latter dubbed "Scary Monsters".
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run[]
During the third stage of the Steel Ball Run Race, Dr.Ferdinand is ordered by President Funny Valentine to retrieve the Saint's Corpse. To go about this plan, Ferdinand activated his ability on a nearby Diego Brando, who was found by Gyro Zeppeli and Johnny Joestar. Ferdinand slowly went about transforming Diego into a dinosaur to infect a nearby town to expand his ability. He recovers rather quickly, however, and catches up with Gyro Zeppeli and Johnny Joestar. The three decide to spend the night in a small village on the rocky mountains.
Through his stand Diego attacks Johnny and Gyro, and rapidly gathers a dinosaur army by transforming the village men and animals. Gyro and Johnny attempt to escape, regardless of being easy detectable by the dinosaurs who can sense movement and can track the smell of their clothes, now wet because of a small dinosaur's urine. Unfortunately, they are infected by Diego as well, though Johnny is able to resist his power because of the corpse. They decide to recover the new corpse part in order to save Gyro from transforming as well, but Diego manages to stop them and recover the Saint's eyes. It is only then that Dr. Ferdinand reveals himself, explaining that he attacked Dio and made him the leader of the group of dinosaurs. He then orders Diego to retrieve the left corpse arm from Johnny, but Johnny fights back on Ferdinand as does Gyro. Ferdinand attempts to hide inside one of his dinosaurs he sends at Johnny and Gyro though he is quickly found by Gyro. His stand Scary Monsters is deactivated and the dinosaurs revert to their original forms, including some mountain lions, that attack and eat Ferdinand alive. Diego, then uses the corpses power to steal Ferdinand's stand ability.
Powers and Abilities[]
Dr. Ferdinand's Stand is Scary Monsters, that allows him to infect people with a virus that turns them into dinosaurs. Activated by touch, Ferdinand can control said dinosaurs. the ability is later stolen by Diego Brando.
