Dr. Fish Wasabi is the main antagonist of the Cartoon Network series Chop Socky Chooks.
Wasabi is a Piranha who has an astronaut's outfit with water filled inside (so he can breathe) and he speaks with a German accent. In accordance with his name his skin is green in color similiar to wasabi.
He is the boss of the huge Wasabi World shopping mall and leader of the Ninja Monkeys, Wasabi probably has a huge influence on the city near Wasabi World.
Dr.Wasabi is extremely intelligent, but he is terrible at thinking things through, he wants to dominate the world but his first goal to do so is to eliminate the Kung Fu Chickens.
He is often accompanied by his bodyguard Bubba, a huge but stupid and incompetent ape.
During the animated series he will be seen facing and helping many other villains.
He is voiced by Paul Kaye.
Biography[]
Wasabi Past[]
Not much is known about Wasabi's past. A flashback of Wasabi tells that as a child he was a fish in a child's bowl but was flushed down the toilet and ended up in the sewers from which he ran away and probably changed and became bigger.
The first time we see a young adult Wasabi is when he tells the story of how he met Bubba and explains that the two of them are inseparable because he has been there since the construction of the mall began.
It is known that Wasabi had a great impact on the past of Chickadee, one of the protagonists, in fact we will see in a flashback a young Wasabi who will try to force Chickadee's parents to sell their house to build the shopping center, but Chickadee's father Chickadee will refuse, while Wasabi was leaving he will beat a young Chickadee to the ground and will be stopped by his friend Oni, who with a hypnotic power will force him to apologize.
Wasabi discovered the girl's power and used her to break the resistance of Chickadee's father who was eventually forced to sell the house by Wasabi to build Wasabi World.
In another Flashback Wasabi explains that the inauguration day was one of the worst and the best because during the inauguration the Chop Socky Chooks turned the crowd against them.
It is not known if it is true but K.O says that as a child Bantam, who often challenged Wasabi, saved K.O from Wasabi, fighting against him but losing and being defeated by Wasabi.
One day Wasabi managed to complete Wasabi World, the largest shopping center and city in the world.
Chop Socky Chooks Events[]
During the events of the series Wasabi will appear for the first time trying to eliminate the Chop Socky Chooks by trapping them in a video game but after losing the skills of the best Wasabi Word player he was defeated.
Some time later Wasabi in an attempt to get beautiful hair will send his ninja monkeys and his guard Bubba to look for a hair potion but Bubba will take a potion that will free Oniom who takes possession of Bhbba a sleeping demon who will try to open a portal to free some trapped demons but will be defeated and sent into the portal.
After banning skates in the Wasabi word K.O. Joe, one of the protagonists, protests but will be captured together with the other two chickens and will be forced to compete with the ninja monkeys in a competition, winning.
Shortly thereafter Chick P visits her old mentor when robotic Chooks attack Wasabi World. Once there, she tries to find out where the Mecha-Chooks came from. All signs point to the fact that her old teacher is working for Dr. Wasabi.
Oni an old friend of Chick P and an old acquaintance of Wasabi returns to Wasabi World to settle accounts with Wasabi and see her old friend again, after visiting Wasabi the two form a deal and Oni now called DeadEye will fight the Chickens losing and reveal who had forced Chick P's father together with Wasabi to sell the house for the construction of the shopping center but it will later be discovered that his hypnotic eye often forces her to do things and she cannot rebel against it.
After escaping, Chickadee promises that she will take revenge on Wasabi for destroying her friend's life too. Wasabi will cause other problems in the Wasabi Word in fact he will create the Wasabi Burgers which will be addictive and will make the citizens of the mall fat, the Chop Socky Chooks will then solve the problem.
Chuckie Chan, one of the three protagonists, will be captured by Wasabi after he tries to buy a product that promises to solve insomnia but in reality Wasabi feeds on the prisoners' nightmares to power a machine with a ray capable of scaring those who are hit by giving them nightmares and hallucinations, however he was hit by the ray after the Chop Socky Chooks deflected it towards Dr. Wasabi.
Wasabi makes plans to marry the tone-deaf mermaid Siren Sung (who Chuckie Chan has a crush on), and soon decides to flood Wasabi World (and rename it Wasabi Water World).
However he is stopped by uncorking the blockage that flooded Wasabi World, but Siren Sung was swept away by the current before she could fall in love with Chuckie. After the identities of the Chop Socky Chooks were revealed Wasabi and Chuckie's nemesk Kobura teamed up to defeat the three Chop Socky Chooks.
After Wasabi makes them run away again Kobura forces him to give him the position as head and manager of Wasabi Word, Kobura will then be defeated and Wasabi will take the position back. The Chop Socky Chooks will then manage to make the citizens forget their identities.
Chuckie Chan's master senses trouble in the Cosmic Balance, and traces it back to its source Dr. Wasabi's new toy, the Karma Gotcha. The Karma Gotcha steals its owners' good luck/karma. But Chuckie Chan is ordered to return to his monastery (his master was displeased with his progress), leaving only K.O. Joe and Chick P to stop Dr. Wasabi's plan. During a photography exhibition for Wasabi he discovers about Chop Socky Chooks that the camera is a time machine and uses it to go back in time and form an alliance with the young man if he is defeated again. After Wasabi makes a foolish television show of his enemy Bantam a superhero, the Chooks have to save the day when the real one shows up. While visiting the Karaoke Korral, the Chooks discover that Wasabi plans on changing the mall-dwellers of the peaceful level into living zombies, Wasabi's plan was later stopped but this will not stop him from trying to implement his next plan. When Wasabi finds out that the Iron Butt Monk's power comes from the Twin Orbs of the Apocalypse, he sends Bubba in to steal it. However, Bubba is only able to steal one, meaning the Cosmic wind will attack Wasabi World. But the Chop Socky Chooks will be able to bring the two iron bottoms back. Bubba fixes Wasabi's TV satellite and is accidentally struck by some sort of powerful force. This force causes Bubba to become super smart and he uses his smarts to put the Wasabi World citizens in a zoo. Bubba will then be stopped by Wasabi and the Chop Socky Chooks and will become stupid again. Wasabi will later manage to trap the Chop Socky Chooks in a level of the prehistoric mall but after a mutant mistakes Chick P for a queen they manage to escape from the prehistoric level and save themselves thanks to the mutants.
Wasabi after creating an army of Powerful Bebies the Chop Socky Chooks will fight the army and stop Wasabi's plan again.
After a long time Wasabi will appear in the next episode as he will send some inhabitants to the moon to use them as slaves in his mine but after waking up a mutant he will run away, the real mutant stopped and Dr.Wasabi as well. Wasabi will host a contest and The Chop Socky Chooks will compete in the race to stop Wasabi's plans, Winning it and succeeding in Wasabi's plans once again. The Chop Socky Chooks are forced to fight in a wrestling match between the villains of Wasabi Word and fight for their honor from Wasabi with a narrow victory against the last fighters Iron Butt Monk's. After attempting to gain powers a superhero from some insects is kidnapped by the genetically saved insect queen and Wasabi is saved by the Chop Socky Chooks before being eaten by the queen and her pups. After discovering that Chuckie Chan is protecting a Wasabi dragon egg, he tries to take it and fails.
Wasabi, angry at all the successes of the Chop Socky Chooks, will manage to catch them and make them wake up on a desert island for his reality show, the desert island will be full of dangers and the Chop Socky Chooks will fight to survive, barely saving themselves. After robbing a bank the two Sumo Twin criminals beat Bubba and after taking him to Wasabi they will have him fired and they will manipulate Wasabi into believing they are friends, but then they will use him and take Wasabi World into their possession but they will be stopped by the Chop Socky Chooks and Bubba.
A simple misunderstanding causes Wasabi's main computer to flush him down the toilet. Things get worse when Bubba attacks him, causing him to go haywire and causing the various electronic equipment in the mall to attack customers. The Chooks have to fight the mall itself, as Doctor Wasabi is haunted by a monster in the sewers, after defeating Wasabi he will probably return to being the leader of Wasabi World. Nothing is known about Dr. Fish Wasabi after the end of the last episode since the TV series will end and Wasabi will probably have returned to being the tyrant or will have been stopped by the Chop Socky Chooks.
Personality[]
Dr. Fish Wasabi is a control freak, insecure but extremely intelligent tyrant. Although he is not very creative, he manages to design a shopping center probably thanks to the help of other people.
However, he will never be able to free himself from the Chop Socky Chooks, becoming obsessed with them, trying to devise evil plans to eliminate them, always failing.
