Dr. Kenning "Flug" Flugslys, is the main protagonist of the Mexican Cartoon Network series Villainous.
He is a cowardly yet incredibly intelligent scientist wearing a paper bag over his head who is the creator of 5.0.5, the right-hand man of Black Hat, and the archenemy of Goldheart.
He is voiced by Jose Antonio Macías in Spanish and by Todd "Eco Vox" Asayer in the English dub.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Nothing is much known about Dr. Flug's past, but the series creator Alan Ituriel mentioned in a live YouTube video that he was born in Iceland, learned Chinese in kindergarten and used to play flute during his elementary school years. In the present day, he creates all of the gadgets and machines Black Hat tries to sell. No one has seen his face except for, according to someone working on the show, Black Hat himself. As a child, Flug used to play video games, though no longer has the time to do so as an adult.
Villainous[]
He also shown to committed 82,602 crimes. Those including of falsification and theft of identity, as well as stealing aforementioned planes, this was revealed in "The Lost Cases of Elmore", where he has a collection of planes which he has shrunk down and stored like snow globes.

Primarily Dr Flug alongside his associates were given the task for scouting to capture Superheroes and many good characters alike to fufill the end of a bargain for many shallow and refuted supervillains who were beaten countless times. He sometimes occasionally feeds Dementia captured superheroes inside of her holding cell regarding it as "Breakfast" before lowering the cage to be devoured,

Dr Flug sly also appears in the Victor and Valentino episode Villainy in Monte Macabre, while dimension-hopping to encounter the titular characters of a show to hunt down for a mysterious creature upon being revealed to be taking the form of a carefree and mischievous little baby named Cacao, who was eventually a rampaging squid seeking out only for Chocolate, working alongside Valentino Calavera to develop a net gun, leaving both Victor and Dementia to distract it's curious awareness with it's tentacles, Dr. Flug then aims the rocket weapon to disorient the being before successfully apprehends the infant into a net, However he never pointed out to both the due about being Evil, Flug then fearfully praises the arrival of Black Hat in a demonic color of red entering Victor and Valentino's dimension sadistically thrilled to instruct Dr. Flug to bring Cacao back from completing their mission, to which Flug agrees without hesitation before a lightning bolt transports the Villains away.
Appearance[]
Dr. Flug is a tall and lanky young man that wears navy blue t-shirt with an airplane being destroyed printed on it under a lab coat, light blue pants, red and white sneakers, yellow gloves, and a pair of goggles over the paper bag that covers its face.
Personality[]
Dr. Flug appears to be a cowardly, yet nervous scientist, even though he is not an actual wimp. He is very intelligent and inventive and seems to like to 5.0.5., as he considers himself a father figure to the bear. In contrast, he and Demencia have often seen bickering, which shows a mutual dislike on their part.
In his Orientation Videos for Villains series, it is shown that he may have no problem with torture and threats targeted at children. He also appears to have somewhat of an ego when it comes to his intelligence. In addition, Flug is constantly nervous and wears a paper bag over his head at all times for some reason.
There is also an indication that he is a hypocrite, as in the inspection video about Mojo Jojo, he talked to 5.0.5. in a way how parents talk to their small children after he criticized Jojo for showing affection for his villainy.
He also has a deep dislike for superheroes. He experimented on ones he captured, briefly forgot about loving Miss Heed when he learned she was a superhero and became enraged after learning Mojo Jojo created the Powerpuff Girls. The one superhero he hates most of all is Goldheart, to the point the one time he actually dreams of murdering Goldheart. Their rivalry will most likely develop more in season 2, as Flug makes it clear he intends to stop Goldheart's ideology of a world without villains, and most likely seeks to kill him afterward.
Abilities[]
- Genius-level intellect: Flug is easily the most intelligent member of the team, having created most, if not all of the gadgets and machines Black Hat is trying to sell. Given their technological innovation and complexity, creating them would clearly require extensive scientific knowledge on Flug's part.
- Driving/Piloting: Series creator, Alan Ituriel has stated that Flug has both a driver's and a pilot's license.
Trivia[]
- His name Kenning means "theory" in Icelandic, while Flugslys means "plane crash" which fits the fact that he has a plane on his t-shirt, as well an airplane being stuck in Black Hat's manor.
- Flug's favorite foods are pancakes, pasta, waffles and salad.
- Dr. Flug's birth date is August 23, 1993.
- Flug has a brother, however, it has not been specified whether he is his older brother or his younger brother.
- While he abuses him, Black Hat seems to hate Flug the least, as evident in a webcomic as well as having him featured in every video.
- The episode also showed that he knew personally Gumball's mother, Nicole. They seem to have had a bad relationship with each other.
- As in the TV series, Flug is more of the protagonist than Black Hat is, due to him appearing more times.
- If the show was done in a more traditional format (with heroes being the protagonist and villains being the antagonist), Flug would actually serve as the main antagonist of Villainous since he interacts with the heroes more and is arguably more sophisticated than Black Hat.
