~ Dr. Fry's last lines to his wife Mrs. Tweedy to watch out. Later the Fun-Land Farms is destroyed by the laser-guided ducks. |
Dr. Marcus "Mark" Fry is the secondary antagonist of Aardman’s 9th full-length animated comedy film Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, the second installment in the Chicken Run film series.
He is Mrs. Tweedy's current husband, whom he worked 12 years with on her ultimate revenge called "The Dawn of the Nugget". Operating a chicken nugget factory known as the Fun Land Farms, Fry helps his wife in keeping all the chickens in check through brainwashing collars as they prepare to make a deal with Reginald Smith of the "Sir Eat-A-Lot" restaurant.
He was voiced by Nick Mohammed in his first villainous role.
Appearance[]
Mark is a short and chubby man with tanned skin, black curly hair and hazel eyes. He looks in his 40s, and has an overbite and his teeth are slightly crooked. His teeth are a bit longer on the right side. He wears glasses, a white lab coat, a yellow sweater, a white shirt, purple trousers, brown shoes and a red bow-tie. He is almost half Mrs. Tweedy's height.
Personality[]
Dr. Fry is shown to be a technological genius, having degrees in the sciences from Oxford and Cambridge (clinical neurology, behavioral psychology and genetic engineering) and a degree in drama. His scientific knowledge made him able to create remote control devices that can affect the behaviors of chickens. Despite his genius, however, Dr. Fry can also be easily distracted and can make rather air-headed mistakes. Dr. Fry is a dimwitted quirky paradoxical nerdy academic scientist who causes numerous stupidity, making his wife dislike his stupidity. He is shown to be very in love with his wife, and he calls her by several cute nicknames. He is probably bad with names, since he calls Reginald by his restaurant name on many occasions. He is very optimistic and he is always smiling.
Despite helping his wife's abuse towards chickens, Fry is not cruel and abusive towards chickens, instead being very gentle and encouraging to them, such as when he put Ginger into the machine for the sake of controlling her.
History[]
Some time after the events of the first movie, following her divorce with Mr. Tweedy, Mrs. Tweedy had married a scientist named Dr. Fry, hoping to use his knowledge on neuroscience in order to create mind-controlling devices for chickens. Due to his genius and expertise, he is generally treated much better than Mr Tweedy by Mrs Tweedy, despite her domineering attitude in the relationship.
