Dr. Fukurokov is a major antagonist in the 1995 SEGA GameGear game Tails Adventure. He is the leading scientist of the Battle Kukku Empire and the mastermind behind all of their machinery.
He plays an integral role in the story, though he does not appear until towards the end. He is also one of the last three bosses in the game, serving as the first boss of Battle Fortress.
He was also a major antagonist in the Tails Adventure arc of the Archie Sonic Universe comic series, but after the Super-Genesis Wave, he was reduced to a minor character.
Personality[]
Fukurokov appears rather eccentric, having an odd, waddling manner of moving around. He is somewhat full of himself, and his greatest weakness is him overlooking little details. In the Archie Comics, he has a strong disliking of when people pronounce his name wrong, and refuses to acknowledge any intellect other than his own. He had his assistant Wave the Swallow thrown into the brig purely because he was jealous of her engineering skills.

Tails Adventure[]
In the doctor's only appearance, he practically serves as one of the primary antagonists, being responsible for most of the bosses in the game, as he designed the mechas of the Battle Kukku Empire.
He does not appear until Tails reaches the Battle Fortress, where he finally reveals himself. However, he does not confront Tails directly, instead relying on robots and tech to hinder the fox. However, to Fukurokov's disadvantage, there is a conveniently placed rock above his head, which can be dropped by Tails' Remote Robot on the doctor's head, presumably killing him.
It is unknown if it applies in the game too, but in the Archie Comics, Speedy's battle armor was built by Dr. Fukurokov.

In the Archie Comics, Fukurokov was the chief engineer and top scientist of the Battle Bird Armada. His assistant for a while was Wave the Swallow, before he had her thrown into the brig, which she escaped from and joined the Babylon Rogues.
Trivia[]
- His name seems to be derives from a Japanese word "fukurou", meaning "owl".
- Despite the role of secondary antagonist going to Speedy, Fukurokov arguably has a stronger impact on the plot.
- In the Archie Comics, several characters find his name difficult to pronounce, which he does not take too kindly to.
- Dr. Fukurokov is not named in any of the western manuals for Tails Adventure. Due to this, he was going to have the name Ojison in the Archie Comics, as seen in the concept art for him.
- He is the second ever character to have a PhD in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, right after Dr. Eggman.
- Fukurokov has an unusually gruesome for Sonic the Hedgehog series defeat, getting crushed by a heavy rock. It is unknown if he survived after this, but it is likely that he died as the Battle Fortress was destroyed afterwards.
