|~ the nursery rhyme about Dr. Giggles' father.|
Dr. Giggles is the titular main antagonist of the 1992 slasher film of the same name. Dr. Evan Rendell Jr. (nicknamed Dr. Giggles for his hideous laugh) is a mentally unstable surgeon that stalks his victims to prep them for fatal examinations. But his quest to kill people with his medical abilities becomes his secondary concern once he learns about a certain girl's heart problem and decides to cure her in order to honor his father's interrupted work.
He was portrayed by the late Larry Drake, who also played Robert G. Durant in the Dark Man film franchise.
Evan Jr. was born in Moorehigh, raised by his father Dr. Evan Rendell Sr. His father killed people and made it look like they disappeared. When the police found what he was doing, they arrived and shot him down, killing him, while Evan Jr. escaped.
Sometime around the past 35 years, when he was growing up, Evan Jr. was found and sent to an insane asylum to help him control his sanity. However, he manages to escape from the asylum by brutally murdering two doctors, and heads back to Moorehigh for revenge. He then goes a murder rampaging streak, killing many people. Later, he goes after Jennifer, a student girl, when he caught in a explosion, presumably killing him.
Although it looks like he died, Giggles reappears, having survived the explosion, and cutting a bloody path through the hospital staff to get to Jennifer. He chases her to a janitor's closet, where she spills a bottle of cleaning fluid onto the floor and hits him with a pair of defibrillator paddles, electrocuting him.
She finally kills him by stabbing him through the chest with two of his own instruments. Giggles then breaks the fourth wall, staring at the camera and asking, "Is there a doctor in the house?" before dying, ending his rampanging and murder streak once and for all.
