Dr. GoodieGood is the main antagonist of The Garfield Show episode "True Colors". He's a TV show host who can see through the screen.
History[]
Garfield watched a detective movie, where the main character of the movie was preparing to say that he knows who stole the diamond. When he was preparing to say it, the TV got broken, and Garfield alarmed Jon Arbuckle that the TV is broken. Jon called the repairment to fix the TV, and gave Garfield his grandmother's old black and white TV to watch it until the TV gets fixed. Jon tells Garfield about Dr. GoodieGood, the host of the TV show he watched as a kid, and loved it. Jon prepared for his date with Liz, and left Garfield with the black and white TV to watch it. Garfield turned it on, and saw Dr. GoodieGood, surprised that the TV show that Jon used to watch as a kid is still on. Nermal appeared and wanted to force Garfield to direct a movie about the former, so the latter can follow him all day, and see what Nermal is doing. Garfield wasn't willing to do it at all, so he kicked Nermal into a garbage can. Dr. GoodieGood, who can see and hear outside the TV screen, scolded Garfield for what he did to Nermal. Despite Garfield tried to convince Dr. GoodieGood that Nermal is a bad cat, Dr. GoodieGood didn't want to hear about it. Dr. GoodieGood brang a curse on Garfield, and stole his colors. Garfield tried to explain to him that he's actually a very likable fellow, and Dr. GoodieGood responded by telling him to prove it, and then maybe, just maybe, Garfield will take his colors back. Garfield decided to help an old lady to cross the street, as that would qualify as a good deed. He tried to tell an old lady that he wants to help her to cross the street, but because she couldn't understand him, she only saw him pulling her bag, and started hitting him with a bag. Garfield's legs became orange, even though Garfield didn't actually do a good deed, meaning that Dr. GoodieGood was actually tricking Garfield into hurting himself, and that he will get his colors back only if he gets hurt. The another example is that when Garfield wanted to save Eddie Gourmand from a piano that could fall on him, Garfield tried to move the latter, but because Eddie was too heavy, Garfield couldn't move him, so he took Eddie's ice cream to get him to chase Garfield, and Garfield's body didn't became orange after he saved Eddie, but after a piano fell on Garfield, meaning that Dr. GoodieGood is actually cruel, and wanted from Garfield to get hurt. The final example is when Garfield saw a trio of dogs threatening Nermal, and the former, despite his dislike for the latter, came to save him, telling the dogs to pick on somebody their own size, but Nermal, instead of being thankful to Garfield, he told the dogs to chase somebody their own size, "like Garfield is". The dogs started chasing Garfield, and the latter's head became orange only when the dogs beat him up, meaning that Dr. GoodieGood didn't want from Garfield to do good deeds, but to get hurt in order to get his colors back. Nermal told Garfield that was "a dumb thing to do", instead of being thankful to Garfield for saving his life from a dogs. Garfield ran straight back home to tell Dr. GoodieGood that he proved himself a good cat, but Jon told him that their TV just got fixed, and that he told the repairment to drive their black and white TV away. Garfield tried to chase the truck where the black and white TV was to find Dr. GoodieGood, but he failed. He went back home. Jon asked Garfield does he remember Dr. GoodieGood, to which Garfield responded that he could never forget him, even though Jon didn't understand what was Garfield saying. Jon told him that Dr. GoodieGood is the TV show host that he told Garfield about the last morning, and started researching about Dr. GoodieGood on the internet. Later, Jon called Garfield for a midnight snack, which amuzed the latter. Garfield saw an image of Dr. GoodieGood on the computer, and told him to take care of himself. Dr. GoodieGood told him to take care of himself too, and that he did good.
