Dr. Gurgula is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Rel Delmar) of the 2022 video game High on Life. He is the scientist that was responsible for the genocide of Gatlus, and played a large role in Earth's enslavement by the G3 Cartel.

Biography

Dr. Gurgula's presence is hinted at many times throughout the course of the game. He is recognized by Sweezy alongside Douglas on a poster, and his name is mentioned several times throughout the game. He only makes a physical appearance, however, at the end of the game during the Secret Ending.

After the Bounty Hunter discovers that Magistrate Clugg is hiding something, and chases him through the corridor, they both wind up face to face with Dr. Gurgula, as Clugg was trying to run back to his boss and the Bounty Hunter simply followed him. Gurgula is annoyed that Clugg brought the Bounty Hunter right too him, and kills him for his idiocy. He then turns to the Bounty Hunter, informing them of who he is, and revealing that he was the one that destroyed the Gatlian race. He monologues on for a moment on how he has studied humans, before informing the Bounty Hunter that he has found what he was looking for, and has deleted his research to stop the Bounty Hunter from learning anything. He then teleports away, and it is implied that he will return as the main antagonist of the game's sequel.
