Dr. Jarret is the main antagonist in the horror comedy film Man's Best Friend.

He was portrayed by Lance Henriksen, who also played Sergeant Daniel Neff in Damien: Omen II, Rafe Garrett in Johnny Handsome, Chains Cooper in Stone Cold, Emil Fouchon in Hard Target, John Milton in Scream 3, Albert Franks in Madhouse, Chazz Montolo in Criminal Minds, and Thomas Magruder in the Gun video games.

Biography[]

Dr. Jarret is an abusive and mad scientist from Emax, whom had been experimenting on a dog via genetic engineering and vivisection on a watchdog called Max 3000. One night, Max escapes the facility, with Jarret attempting to lure him back into his imprisonment. Unbeknownst to Jarret, Max is resting at Lori's house.

Jarret tries to reclaim the dog in order to resume his scheme to exploit Max 3000 as a deadly weapon. Jarret reports the absence to the police to improve is hunt.

After a few events of atrocities committed by the dog, Jarret kidnaps Lori and Max chases after them to back to Emax. Upon arrival, Max searches after Lori through the lab. Once she was found she manages to prove that she didn't mean to hurt him, and Max started to love her again. But all of the sudden, a battered, bruised, and furious Dr. Jarret broke through the door and assaulted them. Max leaped to protect Lori and was killed by Dr. Jarret when he shot him. However, pushed by Max, Jarret fell on top of a large cage, and Lori's new puppy, Spike, accidentally plugged in a live wire resting on the cage, making flows of electrical energy surge through Dr. Jarret's body, killing him.
