Dr. MEI is a character from Houkai Gakuen 2 or Gun Girl Z. She is from Era: Zero which is an first era in human history in Houkai Gakuen story before the main story take place.
In years 2040. Humanity is on it's last knee with few cities remain on earth after fight with Honkai. As heir of Massive Electronic corperation of Nagazora city, after the pass away of her father Raiden Ryoma. She must find a way to defeat the Honkai, by any mean necessary.
Story[]
Era: ZERO[]
Chapter 1[]
Dr. Mei recive 1 test subject from Otto Apocalypse. She's a girl. The first thing she do to her is test her Honkai resistance, which is very high. Then she make her fight honkai beasts by herself. Luckily she survive. After the test, Mei ask what is her name, she say she doesn't have one. So Mei give her name Kiana. Kiana ask how long she must stay with her. Mei answer "Not too long, until your death."
On the next day, Mei tell her to take of her clothes for physical examination. She say she need to do this everyday from now. After that she make her join Valkirye squad lead by Murata Himeko as a test. Her first mission is to exploring the area with high Honkai energy and seal it. While in mission, Kiana found a girl alone in that area, so Kiana bring her back. But how is a girl survive alone with other people being dead in that area? The answer is that she's Herrscher. Mei order Kiana to leave that girl and allow solliders to kill her. When Kiana refuse, Mei activate her mind control chip she implant in Kiana. Making her stop and allow solider to kill the girl. When Kiana wake up back in her base and learn what happened to the girl, she feel sad that being unable to save her, Dr. Mei say she should get used to it. Kiana say what's the point of doing if she can't save people. Mei ask if she want to be a heroes, Kiana answer it doesn't matter as long as she's able to save people. After that Mei leave to go to the meeting of The Mankind Treaty Union (MTU).
At the meeting. She is accused by General Gesar of allowing Honkai energy to leaks just to created a herrscher just for an experiment. Dr. Mei say general pretend to care about solider died to contain honkai while he himself hide behind and whine. They move on to the next topic. Herrscher power level hasn't been increase for many years. But even then, Honkai disaster still not stop. Dr. Mei come to conclusion that it is because there is a limit of how much Honkai energy can manifest on the planet earth. Mei then show everyone a picture of something. It was astimet to be a small comet, but then she realize it's actually a size of Australia, and finally reveal to be an oganism. a planet size Honkai beast. From Mei estimate, it will reach the earth in 2 years. But Mei say not to worry as she is developing project Heishin, fromerly alpha phase now in beta phase. But General Geasar is skeptic if Mei machine would succeed in defeating this Honkai beast.
Afer the meeting. Cocolia from MTU Security Department ask Dr. Mei is project Heishin the only plan she has. Mei say yes. After that she going back to meet with Himeko and Kiana. Then ask Kiana to go walk on street with her to build Kiana social skill. When they feel tried, they call a car to go back to their base. But they were attacked by a group of girls and take Mei away. Kiana and Mei follow them to the neon street area. Mei was bring here to meet with Kevin. Kevin say Dr. Mei lied that planatary Honkai beast can be stop in the meeting she has today. Mei say it was necessary lied so humanity can have hope. Suddenly Mei hear a sound of big explosion. After that Kiana come to rescue Mei and Kevin let them go. Kevin just kidnap Dr. Mei as a distraction so his group can plan a bomb in Massive Electronic. After that Kevin hack a monitor and give a speech to people of Nagasora. Which Mei consider him and his group stupid. Kiana say sorry that she allow Mei to be kidnap, but Mei doesn't really bother because she's not an official Valkirye yet, and she shouldn't take thing too seriously if she want to has a life of normal human. But Kiana still insist that she want to be a valkirye. So Himeko allow her to join her valkirye squad.
After Kiana go to sleep. Mei view out of the window look at the explosion cause by Kevin terrorsit group and say.

It was a pity that this little light would do nothing, or at least blow up the whole building… Although it is a ridiculous speech, it is really enviable that he could freely vent their desire. Fools immersed in the intoxication of life and death, under the bubble of dreams to their heart's content. The fire of doom has been lit, and the flames will burn the false world. When everything turned to ashes, who can escape this disaster? Poor human...On the eve of Houkai's arrival, cherish the peace that remains… |

The end of Era: Zero[]
When the planetary Honkai beast is arrive, she leave her to fight it even if Jyhanar suggest she shouldn't because Mei is waiting for her. In the end, she failed. Kiana is dying on the moon while Honkai beast destroy the earth, who is actually Jyhanar herself all along. Jyhanar lament the fact that Kiana choose to save humanity but to no avail. Kiana ask Jyhanar to trust in humanity, in which she accept. Dr. Mei activated the Project Stigma in Kiana body, turning her into Alayavijnana. A biological computer that work as reset button in case that humanity failed to defeated Honkai. Dr. Mei allow herself to be absorbed by computer along with all of human souls to restart the cycle of humanity civilization. A samsara system which Jyhanar will be the one to safeguard and power the computer.

- Even if Herrscher of Origin doesn't exist in Houkai Gakuen 2, Dr.Mei/Raiden Mei is still function as one narratively. As she is the one that created Stigmata World for humanity souls thus being The Origin of new humanity in both cycles.
- Both Kiana and Mei are transfrom into gods with the power of humanity at Reborn Era finally in their fight with Honkai God. The anniversary song for Houkai Gakuen 2 10.0 update is call "The End is a Beginning", Which say Kiana is Finality, and Mei is Origin just like in Honkai Impact 3rd.
