Dr. Reflex is a major antagonist in the 2020 indie horror video game Baldi's Basics Plus, the third mainline installment in the Baldi's Basics series.
In contrast to his original comic strip counterpart, this version of Dr. Reflex is depicted as a school doctor who will punish students in the school with a giant reflex hammer if they fail their reflex tests.
He is voiced by game creator Micah James "Mystman12" McGonigal, who also voices his boss Professor Baldi Baldimore, Principal of the Thing, Playtime, It's a Bully, Gotta Sweep, and Null in the same series.
Appearance[]
In contrast to his original comic strip counterpart, this Dr. Reflex has a hideous appearance, but instead of being a regular human like in the original comic strip. He is a humanoid man made of clay that resembles a rag doll with brown hair styled into a ponytail, a long upper jaw that extends into a large nose, four fingers on each hand, realistic blue eyes, and a red-lipped mouth with two buck teeth in front, similar to a cartoon rabbit. He wears a white doctor's coat with black buttons, a gray stethoscope, black pants, light blue gloves, and brown shoes. When he gets angry, he picks up a very large reflex hammer (which appears to be a yellow percussion hammer with a gray handle) and holds it above his head with both hands. He also has an orange coloring.
Personality[]
Dr. Reflex is eager to do his job as he will run toward the unnamed Explorer Student when he see him in order to initiate a reflex test. He gets upset when the Explorer Student messes up the test, but is quite encouraging to him and wants him to try again. When his reflex test is interrupted for any reason, he will turn aggressive and attempt to hunt him down with a percussion hammer.
Biography[]
Backstory[]
Dr. Reflex first appeared in one of the comics of Mystman12's old comic strip series Baldimore, where he reflex tested Baldi's knee, resulting in him getting an unintentional kick to the balls by the latter.

Trivia[]
- Dr. Reflex is the first and only character to be made out of clay.
- Dr. Reflex's hammer was revealed on Mystman12's Instagram post, where he explains that Dr. Reflex's model could not hold the reflex hammer by itself, so he had to rig up a support system for it.
- In a Kickstarter post, his sprites were revealed. However, they were confirmed to be placeholders, as they were static. They were changed upon version 0.4's release.
- Dr. Reflex's model took roughly 60 hours to be built, several nights to be photographed, and a week to be fully digitized and edited.
- Mystman12 confirmed that Dr. Reflex does not possess a medical license.
- Dr. Reflex appears to be left-handed, as he is seen holding his percussion hammer in his left hand in many images, including promotional images for his plushie, as well as in the original comic.
- Dr. Reflex has the most sprites out of any character in the series so far, being a grand total of 313 sprites. This is due to him having a variant of each of his animations for each sprite rotation.
- Like Mrs. Pomp, Dr. Reflex's description in the Principal's office says that he diagnoses students, but the Explorer Student is the only student who is targeted for this.
- However, other characters are not exempt from Dr. Reflex's wrath, as they are also squashed by his hammer, except for Chalkles.
