Stop hand

Ordinary people, like my brother, are weak, and deserve to become extinct! The same as all the useless creatures he's always trying to save! Bionics and robotics are the future! And, one day, I will prove it to him, and the world!
~ Doctor Richard Remy

Biography[]

Pilot Episode[]

In "The Adventure Begins", while Lukas and Richard were both kids, after Lukas rescued Kong from two poachers named Brag and Wheeler, Richard became disgusted by the ape and wanted him to be taken to the authorities, though Lukas was allowed to keep Kong by their scientific father, Dr. Leo Remy. Even their nanny, Anita, became close to Kong, which made Richard hate him even more. Over time, Kong grew bigger and bigger until he overgrew and accidentally destroyed the houseboat the Remy family lived in. The destruction of the houseboat attracted the attention of Captain Decker and his police force, and while Lukas and Kong flee from the scene, Richard asks his father why the police didn't start shooting at Kong. The latter replies by saying that they didn't want to risk hitting Lukas.

Following this, Richard starts complaining about moving out from San Francisco to the Redwoods because he hates the forest and doesn't want to leave the city. When they move to a house Leo bought in the Redwoods, Richard continues to complain because his stuff is gone and the Redwoods are filled with bugs. However, Leo tells his son that he made a laboratory near the house so the latter can begin creating the first robotic dinosaur he's always dreamed of. When this cheers up Richard, Lukas tells him he can't wait to see his robotic dinosaur. However, Leo warns Richard that he can only work on his science project whenever he is present and that he must never use the lasers even when he is present. With that said, Richard promises him that he will never enter the lab alone, and Lukas promises him that he will make sure Kong never enters the lab, no matter what.

While Lukas and Kong build a top-secret fort using redwood logs, Richard continues to work on his science project. Richard tells his father that he made his robotic dinosaur so that it crushes anything that gets in its way. Leo tells Richard that he is proud of him, but Richard notices that something isn't right with his robotic dinosaur, saying that if he could use the laser, he can make it as smooth and shiny as his design. However, Leo strictly prohibits Richard from using the lasers because they are off-limits, but Richard doesn't care because he watched him use them. Leo tells him that the lasers are too dangerous for him to use, but offers to do it for him when he has the time. However, Richard rejects his father's offer, saying that because it was his project, he has to do it all by himself. Even when his father compliments him for his hard work, Richard kicks his robotic dinosaur and storms out of the laboratory.

Soon after, Richard steals Lukas's tablet so he can use it to finish his own project, uncaring of the fact that Lukas needs it so he can do an exam in online school the following day. When Leo asks him if he wants to come, Richard makes up an excuse that he shouldn't skip class so he can do the big exam, even though what he really wants is to finish the science project involving his robotic dinosaur. When Leo and Lukas leave, Richard smiles, knowing his plan is coming through, and because Anita is too busy singing with her parrot Chatter, Richard figures that she won't know about what he's been doing. As Richard goes into the laboratory, Kong blocks the entrance for Richard's own safety, but Richard tricks him into thinking that Lukas is in the forest. However, Kong realizes that he's been played as soon as Richard closes the door.

Richard breaks the promise he made to his father involving him not using the lasers, telling himself that his father will realize that he was wrong about him and that he will be proud of his son by finishing his science project. However, things start to go haywire because Richard uses the lasers, and it causes a huge explosion that costs him an eye and sets the lab on fire. Kong is forced to rush inside and rescue Richard from the flames. After the incident, the paramedics take Richard away to do an operation on him, and Richard tells his father that it was Kong who started the fire, not him, lying that he saw him enter the lab to stop him. He also begs his father to get rid of Kong for causing it. During the operation, the doctors put in a bionic eye to replace his old one. When Leo walks into his laboratory at night, he realizes what Richard has done, becoming deeply ashamed of him.

Richard returns the following day, and Leo and Lukas both try to convince him to stay with them instead of moving away to his divorced mother. Richard decides to stay, but only if Kong is forced to leave. However, Leo tells Richard that Kong saved his life, so Richard decides to move away to his mother. Leo then tells Richard to take it easy because everything will be okay, even offering to see him once in a while and make sure that Richard looks like his old self again using advanced bionic technology. Unfortunately, this only causes Richard to rant, telling his father that he's glad he looks different because he hated being a twin.

Ten years later, and Richard Remy has grown up to be a brilliant scientist and expert in bionics, while his brother, Lukas, has grown up to be a nature conservationist. He watches the news with the android assistant he created, Botila, as it's broadcasted that Kong has rescued a camper and his son and daughter. However, he isn't impressed by it. It turns out that Richard created a shock collar that is supposed to hurt Kong whenever he goes haywire, and Kong has been relocated to Alcatraz Island, which is soon to become Kong Island, with the Remy Natural History and Marine Preserve being built there. While Richard makes an agreement with his father to build it, he only does so for his own schemes.

Soon, Richard introduces one of his Bionobots, which malfunctions, so he orders Botila to take it down. However, Botila points out that it is impossible because the Bionobot has no override button. Because of the Bionobot being a threat, Kong destroys it, so Richard blames Kong for the incident even with what Botila told him earlier. However, Leo encourages him by telling him that he has more Bionobots. Lukas suggests that Richard doesn't use his creations to torment Kong if he doesn't want them destroyed, which angers Richard. Back in his own lab, Richard complains about the fact that the public is more interested in Kong than the Bionobots.

A year later, Dr. Leo Remy has died, though Richard doesn't go to his funeral and instead watches it from television. As more visitors are going to Kong's exhibit, Richard uses the shock collar to torture him to force him to go on a rampage throughout Kong Island. Then, he sends his Bionobots to kill him and tells the visitors that he will take care of the problem, thus successfully painting himself as a hero. However, Kong destroys the Bionobots, so Richard tries to get the military to take him down. The military is reluctant to do so because there are civilians are in the way, so Richard increases the pain on Kong's collar so the latter would continue the rampage while he himself releases another Bionobot after him. However, Kong manages to defeat the Bionobot, so Richard increases the pain of the collar to the maximum level to torture Kong to his death. However, Lukas manages to help Kong come back to his senses, and tells him to go back to the house that Leo bought in the Redwoods.

Eventually, Decker (who is now promoted from Captain to Commissioner) and the police continue to hunt for Kong, and Richard contacts Lukas and suggests that he surrenders Kong to them. Richard also reveals to Lukas that two ligers (Lady and her cub, Lucky) escaped Kong Island after Kong destroyed their enclosure and that he will reward anyone who spots them. As a result, Lukas and the team are drawn out to a military warehouse, which is being robbed by Brag and Wheeler under Botila's supervision. It turns out that Lady and Lucky were captured by Botila as payment to the two poachers. When Kong arrives, Botila sends Bionobots to attack him and tells Richard that everything is going according to plan. Richard reveals that he's going to sell the military warehouse's arsenal to the black market. Kong destroys the Bionobot, so another one arrives to attack him, but it leaves as soon as the military arrives and attacks Kong themselves. They put their spotlights on Kong, but Lukas, Jonesy, and Danny are caught in them as well as the warehouse explodes. The news report claims that Kong stole military weapons from the warehouse with the help of Lukas Remy and his team, who are now fugitives and labeled as criminals. Meanwhile, Richard is satisfied that his buyer will pay enough money so that he can advance his Bionobots with improved weapons systems, and also reveals that he's upgrading himself so that he can become the most powerful bionoman in the world.
