Dr. Ivo Robotnik is the overarching antagonist of the "Freedom Fighters of the Galaxy" story in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by Archie Comics. He is an alternate version of Dr. Robotnik, who managed to banish his arch-enemy Sonic into outer space and laid waste to Mobius once he was gone. Unfortunately for him, his mechanical world eventually imploded, taking its creator with it.
Biography[]
Since Robotnik comes from a timeline that diverged from Mobius Prime in 3235, it's assumed that his life was identical to his Prime counterpart's prior to this year. He deceived Sonic the Hedgehog into thinking Sally Acorn was inside his rocket, and when Sonic entered it, it took off and flew into space. With Sonic off-planet, Robotnik unleashed his weapons on Mobius in what would become known as the War of the World. The war led to the majority of the life on the planet dying, and Mobius itself becoming uninhabitable safe for a few isolated spots, forcing survivors to leave it. Robotnik would be denied a full victory, however, as the mechanical society he built ended up collapsing and somehow causing his death in the process. He would be survived by his robotic descendant Robolactus, who wandered the galaxy and fed on the life force of its planets.
