Dr. Saotome is an antagonist from Getter Robo Armageddon.
Personality
Saotome is a scientist that wishes to develop the Getter Robo to help humanity to travel through space. However, after he discovered his daughter, Michiru, died from an accident of Getter Robo G testing caused by Invaders, he started to develop ways to stop the Invaders, only to get infected instead, thus driving him mad.
Biography
Dr. Saotome was originally a scientist that is developing the Getter Robo G to help humanity travel in space, however, during one of the test flight, an accident occurred, which killed his daughter, Michiru. Saotome then started to set up plans to fight against Invaders, only to get infected and became their puppet instead. However, Saotome was still able to create countermeasures, which is the Shin Dragon, however, he was eventually murdered by Hayato, who framed it on Ryoma. However, Saotome was soon resurrected by the Invaders.
Then, Saotome assisted the Invaders in building Metal Beasts. At some point, Saotome tried to convince another of his daughter, Genki Saotome in joining the Invaders and revealed that he was his father, much to Genki's horror. Nevertheless, Genki refused her father's invitation. After a battle, Saotome and the Shin Dragon vanished.
Eventually, the Shin Getter Robo, piloted by Ryoma, Hayato and Benki entered the Shin Dragon to fight Saotome, Cowen and Stinger, who were piloting the Metal Beast Dragon. At first, the possessed scientists seems to have the upper hand, however, the Getter Team eventually were able to destroy Metal Beast Dragon with Stoner Sunshine. While Cowen and Stinger escaped, Saotome grabbed the Invaders that were trying to flee from his body, he then thanked the Getter Team for stopping him and wished them good luck before getting incinerated in the blast.
