| ~ Dr. Shamai entering a nervous meltdown after all of his evidence gets destroyed. |
Dr. Mosley Shamai is the main antagonist of the Phineas and Ferb episode "Deconstructing Doof". He is a psychiatrist dedicated to using his knowledge in satisfying his conspiracy theory beliefs.
He was voiced by Brendan Hunt.
Role[]
As part of his job as a psychiatrist, his job involves helping people cope with their problems. His recent clients, Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Candace Flynn, have to come to him to express the horrible experiences they've endured during the summer (as well as last year's summer), such as Candace's inability to bust her brothers and Doofenshmirtz's failed schemes. Shamai also caught wind from Candace that the boys have a pet platypus named Perry, who happens to be Doof's nemesis responsible for foiling Doof's schemes.
Hearing Doof and Candace's stories, Shamai creates a theory that the stories may be accurately linked to each other, possibly through Perry. To that end, he conducted several interviews at the Flynn-Fletcher house, where the Flynn-Fletchers and their friends explain their viewpoints. Shamai later visited Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated, where Doof explains his daily routine (with the help from Perry, Norm and Vanessa) before firing a blast from his latest inator. Around the same time, Shamai gets a call from Candace, who said that the boys' latest invention disappeared, leaving Shamai to realize that the blast is what caused the boys' invention to disappear.
Creating a string theory conspiracy board based on his findings, Shamai collects enough evidence to prove that Perry is a secret agent who is responsible for the events that the kids and Doof went through for the two summers. It eventually turns out that Shamai himself is nothing more than a conspiracy theorist who tends to exploit his clients' stories to fuel his need for attention and fame, and that he has no intention in providing Doof and Candace the help that they needed.
Upon getting a call from Candace that the boys have created a flying disco blimp, Shamai happily hosts a public lecture at an arena, hoping to show everyone (including a visiting Linda) all the evidence and the disco blimp to prove his claims. For good measure, he gets both Doofenshmirtz and Candace's permissions in sharing his findings to the public and invites them over to the lecture; even getting Doofenshmirtz to bring his inator over as a backup for the presentation.
However, Monogram and Perry catch wind of Shamai's true intentions, realizing that both Perry's identity and O.W.C.A.'s existence will be compromised if Shamai exposes the truth to everyone in the arena. Being ordered by Monogram to stop Shamai at all costs, Perry tricks Doofenshmirtz into firing the inator at the sky, causing several beams to deflect into several satellites. The first beam strikes the disco blimp's engine while the second beam strikes the stage as Shamai unveils the curtains, destroying the inator and the evidence.
As both Doofenshmirtz and Perry flee away from the scene, Shamai sees that the disco blimp is still standing and tries to get everyone to look at it so that he can still prove his point. However, Candace causes a chain reaction for everyone to drop their purses and briefcases to the floors, just as the third beam strikes the disco blimp, destroying it completely. Having witnessed this all and realizing that everyone in the arena finds him to be delusional, Shamai screams and enters into a mental breakdown, rambling over the loss of his sanity before being taken away into custody by a police officer.
It can be implied that Shamai will be institutionalized for his ramblings, leaving Doofenshmirtz and Candace to be left with no one to help them cope their problems.
