Dr. Ver is the main antagonist in Senki Zesshou Symphogear G, second season of the Japanese anime television series Senki Zesshō Symphogear.
Appearance
Dr. Ver has white short hair parted from the left with blue eyes. He wears silver rimmed glasses along with a olive green turtle neck, a white overcoat with light violet trimmings, grey slacks and light brown shoes.
Personality
He is also visibly insane, prone to sudden and extreme outbursts of emotion despite his normally calm demeanor.
History
At the start of the season 2, He was transferred from the USA’s sacred relic research institution and works together with the Special Disaster Response Team Division 2 to analyze the Sakurai Theory.
As an expert on biochemistry, he has demonstrated an aptitude for research involving the bonding of living organisms to sacred relics. He holds an admiration for the heroes who saved the world, Hibiki and co., and harbors many personal ambitions. At the end of the series, he is arrested by Genjuro's soldiers.
In Season 3 Dr Ver was able to Escape on the Prison and Saving Carol.
Trivia
- He was voiced by Tomakazu Sugita, the same voice actor who previously played Ragna the Bloodedge from Blazblue series (like Yuuki Terumi/Hazama, who is a psychopath).
- Dr. Ver shares a few similarities with Akihiro Kurata from Digimon Data Squad:
- Both are mad scientists, making the protagonists be able to underestimate him.
- During the self-defense from protagonist's final attack, they were both protected by their henchmen.
- While being furious, they acted like psychopathical behavior.
- Both are wearing eyeglasses.
- He also shows a few similarities with Dr. Kenmi from Sacred Seven:
- Both are evil geniuses.
- Dr. Kenmi's only one minion is Arakune(aka Rabbit); while Dr. Ver's minions are Maria Cadenzavna Eve, Shirabe Tsukoyomi, and Kirika Akatsuki.
- Like Kenmi, he is responsible for having an experiment on the protagonist's friend.
- Dr. Ver is the psychopathical remniscient of Dr. Wily from Megaman series.
- Dr. Ver shares a few similarites with Dr. Phillium Benedict from Recess: School's Out:
- Both are mastermind persons.
- During the epilogue, he would be arrested by the police officers or soldiers for committing crimes.
- Dr. Ver shares a striking resemblance with Kiyoto Maki from Kamen Rider OOO.
- Dr. Ver also shares a similarity to Handsome Jack. Both consider themselves as heroes, no matter how depraved their actions are.
- Dr. Ver has some similarities to The Jackal from the Spider-Man Clone Saga:
- Both can oscillate from a calm and calculating demeanor to a maniacal, highly expressive one at a moment's notice.
- Both claim at some point to want to save/improve the world, yet their true motives are warped and evil.
- At some point, both manipulate heroic characters into serving their villainous agendas by exploiting an identity crisis and presenting to offer the solution.
- Both are mad scientists with designs for the world colored by their petty and self-serving desires.
