Gentlemen!
~ Dr.Weird's iconic opening phrase.
It WORKS! I am one can short of a six pack! Wha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
~ Dr. Weird

Dr. Weird is the main antagonist of the Adult Swim animated series Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and the main antagonist in its 2007 film Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters.

He is a mad scientist who lives in an abandoned insane asylum in the rainy South Jersey Shore. He has appeared in every episode of season one and season two in cold openings with the catchphrase "Gentlemen, behold!" to his assistant named Steve.

He was voiced by the late C. Martin Croker, who also voiced Zorak and Moltar.

Biography[]

Creation of the Aqua Teens[]

Dr. Weird created the Aqua Teens so they will drive a plane into a brick wall. They failed him, which made Dr. Weird create more experiments.

Other Creations[]

Dr. Weird created the Rabbot, MC Pee Pants, Moth Monsterman and other products of his twisted science.

Personality[]

A ambitious creator by heart. As his name implies, Dr. Weird is an insane person who is so excited over the fact he invented or did something, that he cannot fathom how other people around him find his generally random and idiotic ideas that he comes up with downright ridiculous or confusing.

He is such a weird he rarely speaks calmly, and his default vocal setting is yelling. He often calls anyone "gentlemen" and rarely addresses his lab assistant by his actual name. He appears to have bipolar disorder, which explains why his acts of sheer randomness are far more hedonistic, experimental and goofy rather than villainous or evil.

While he is a complete oddball, Dr. Weird can be at times, both intentionally and unintentionally, dangerous. His inventions have caused collateral damage in and out of his lair, and whenever he gets sadistic towards Steve at times, Dr. Weird's more cruel side would show.

In the movie Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, he is depicted as an idiosyncratic villain who concocted an underhanded plan to trap Carl Brutananadilewski in chains to brutally amputate his body so he can be muscular, his potential for harm and destruction was quite valid since he was in-disguise as a muscular woman. Fortunately, he never maintains power for very long since he got killed by Frylock when he was seen bragging after he knocked Frylock across the room with his superpower.

Appearance[]

Dr. Weird is an pudgy, slightly bald human with a oval glass vase that covers his whole head, long white-greyish hair that faces upwards, and fair skin. He also wears yellow-greenish goggles with reddish lenses. His signature outfit is a purple and yellow bodysuit with a cloak along with having minor exposure of his chest, sporting with a pair of yellow gloves, and is usually seen barefoot.

Trivia[]

  • Dr. Weird is based on the one-shot villain Dr. Strangemoon from Josie and the Pussycats. Both characters wear yellow domino masks and have similar hairstyles.
  • Even though in the film, Dr. Weird said he was created by Frylock and that they were creations of Walter Melon, it was said in 2010 during "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Live" by series creator Dave Willis that Dr. Weird was indeed the creator of the Aqua Teens, making them brothers. Thus explaining that Weird's confession was just another one of his insane rants and that Walter Melon was simply one of his creations used for his insane and convoluted plot to mess with the Aqua Teens.
  • In the cold open for the episode The Dressing, Dr. Weird kills Space Ghost and uses his head as a mask. This is humorous because Weird's voice actor C. Martin Croker portrayed Zorak and Moltar on Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, and because Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis were writers on Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. This episode also contained a reference to the movie Highlander.
  • Dr. Weird has created a variety of strange living things over the years. These include Frylock, Master Shake, Meatwad, Rabbot, Mothmonsterman, a "lawnmower child", and a monster shaped like a present.
  • Footage for the close-up of the exterior for Dr. Weird's laboratory was recycled from that for the Bell Island Asylum in The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest Season One Episode Two, "Escape to QuestWorld".
  • Dr. Weird's catchphrase, "Gentlemen, behold!", was sampled in the song "Let's Move" by hip-hop group The Perceptionists.
  • One of Dr. Weird's aliases "Dr. Buttocks" in the episode "Super Trivia", is coincidentally similar to an Pac Man villain of the exact same name who's also a mad scientist archetype who existed 10 years later after Dr. Weird.
