~ Dr. Zoidberg's motivation. |
Dr. John A. Zoidberg is the main antagonist of the "Round Wheels" segment of the Futurama episode "The Prince and the Product." He is an evil version of Dr. Zoidberg from an alternate reality where the inhabitants of New New York are reimagined as toy cars.
He was voiced by Billy West, who also voiced Zapp Brannigan and Professtro in the same series, as well as voicing Ren Höek in The Ren & Stimpy Show.
History[]
John Zoidberg's history presumably parallels his main universe counterpart, becoming the incompetent surgeon for the Planet Express Crew. However, he was often ostracized by his other employees, and unlike the true Zoidberg, this left John bitter and vengeful.
Through unknown means, Zodiberg managed to create a video that, once combined with a specific phone call, would brainwash cars into driving into his chop shop. Once here, Zoidberg would crush the unsuspecting vehicle; it's believed Zoidberg killed dozens of cars this way. Eventually, after the entire Planet Express Crew saw the video on the news, Amy Wong would answer the call, becoming Zoidberg's first victim; she was soon followed by Fry and Leela.
Zoidberg's next target was Bender, who was violently beaten just like the others. However, Bender was pursued by Hermes and Professor Farnsworth. Only Hermes had the speed to make it to Zoidberg's lair, where he soon learned the truth: Zoidberg hadn't been killing the Express Crew, he'd been crafting their parts onto his body, while they were fully conscious nonetheless. He tried to assimilate Hermes, but he accidentally sliced off his own face. Hermes than fused to Zoidberg's hodgepodge body and ran over the doctor, killing him.
Appearance[]
In his normal appearance, Zoidberg resembles a cartoonish, Volkswagen Beetle-eseque car. He is an orange-red color with grey mirrors and bumpers. He has light blue, circular headlights with beady black pupils. Rather than having a typical mouth, he has four mouth frills.
After attaching his friends' parts onto his own body, Zoidberg looks quite different. being a hodgepodge of different components. His front is the same, but he now has the maroon roof of the Philip J. Fry. Additionally, he has the pink bumper and trunk of Amy, the white and green doors of Professor Farnsworth, and the purple spoiler of Leela.
