“ | My generals. We prosecute a good war. In killing my wife, humanity has proven that they don't deserve Wallachia. Wallachia will now become our seat. We will scour them off the land. We will continue to use the night hordes, all the creatures of terror that humanity once drove away. Afterwards, I think I will give Wallachia to them. Perhaps that will be better. | „ |
~ Dracula to his court |
Dracula's Army are the main antagonists of the Netflix animated series Castlevania. It is a military force under Lord Dracula, made up of diverse creatures to wage war against all mankind.
These unholy forces command a vast legion of creatures Dracula himself gathered from Hell as a part of his war campaign against humanity as a whole. Their lines are mainly composed of high-profile vampires, with only two human Forgemasters among their ranks who utilize black arts such as the ability to create demons and necromancy from corpses.
Biography[]
Background[]
Almost immediately after learning of his wife's death, Dracula intended to wipe out all of humanity as an act of revenge. When he gave the people of Targoviste one year to make their peace with God before he destroys them, they ignored until the year when by when Dracula returned to his castle and summoned an army from Hell.
Dracula approached his human advisors Hector and Isaac who used back magic to create an army of night creatures from the dead to aid in the war. He unleashed his army on Targoviste, massacring the populace, and the horde proceeded to descend upon the rest of Wallachia.
War Council[]
As the war dragged, Dracula calls upon his generals of vampires from across the world to discuss strategy of wiping out the humans. They protests the state of the war, particularly the lack of strategy, in which Dracula introduces his Devil Forgemasters, Hector and Isaac, to his council as his newest confidants to lead the war more effectively. This decision sparks outrage from the court until Dracula silences them. Arguments continues and soon enough, the vampire mistress, Carmilla arrives and questions Dracula's priorities, beginning with the question on why he hadn't turned Lisa into a vampire in the beginning, enraging Dracula considerably.
Carmilla schemed to assume power over the vampires. inciting disloyalty among the vampire generals and even Hector and Isaac. She successfully manipulated Hector, but Isaac was loyal to Dracula to a fault. Vampire viking Godbrand, begins to question on what the vampires will do once humanity is extinct, fearing on what the vampires will feast on.
Dracula expresses disinterest and anger with Godbrand's concerns, which the viking takes as Dracula wanting to die, so he joins his wife and is willing to have every vampire starve in the attempt, thereby confirming that Dracula has gone mad. The situation between Dracula and his vampires became more complicated when details of their failure to wipe out the city of Gresit came to light and that Trevor Belmont, whose family hunted the vampires for centuries, and Alucard, Dracula's son who tried to stop him, were coming to kill him.
Dissolve[]
Ultimately, the vampires grew tired with their current state and decide to invade the town of Braila and feed on its people. In this moment, Carmilla made her move against Dracula, having the majority of her forces storm his castle. However, Dracula kills most of her force, which forced her to retreat. Soon, Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades arrived and killed the vampire generals. Isaac confirms Alucard's presence and that of Trevor's, advising him to return to his study. Dracula spares him from the intruders by sending him to the desert.
After a long brutal fight, Alucard uses wooden stake to stabs Dracula, with a heavy heart and crying tears of blood. Trevor decapitates Dracula with Leon Belmont's longsword before Sypha uses her magic to burn Dracula's remains which erupt into a fearsome demonic black cloud that spreads across the castle before dissipating completely.
Dracula's death created a power vacuum, with abandoned night creatures and upstart vampire factions wreaking havoc. Carmilla plots to assume control over the vampire-kind world by enslaving Hector to use his abilities as a Forgemaster to replenish her forces. In addition, within the desert he was banished to, Isaac resolves to continue Dracula's war on humanity as well as seek vengeance against Carmilla and Hector for their betrayal. Beginning with a group of bandits, Isaac kills humans unlucky enough to cross paths with him and forges their bodies into night creatures, raising his army over time.
