“ | Don't you see? An end is a blessing. Dying gives you size. It's the mountaintop from which your whole life is at last visible. From beginning to end. Death completes you. | „ |
~ Dracula to Jonathan Harker |
“ | Mina: What is he? What is Count Dracula? Agatha: In life, he was a prince of exceptional learning and attainment. In death, I suppose you could say he's the best of the vampires. Mina: The best? Agatha: The most successful, I mean. Most are feral, half-mad. They rarely last long and yet, somehow, Dracula has found a way to retain his human form and intellect, more or less intact, for hundreds of years. Mina: By drinking blood? Agatha: Ah, they all drink blood. Dracula has learned to do it well... I think by choosing his victims with the greatest of care. Even in death, he has retained the discrimination of an aristocrat. |

Dracula with Jonathan Harker
In 1897, Dracula picks up his british lawyer Jonathan Harker under the guise of a driver and flies back to his castle as a bat to meet him there, to discuss leasing Carfax Abbey in London. Dracula, who had the appearance of an old man, prepared food for Harker and barely resists the urge to drink some blood from a paper cut on his finger. Over the course of the month, Dracula keeps Harker as a prisoner in his castle.
Eventually, one of Dracula's brides attempt to drink from Harker, but she was stopped by Dracula, who attacks Harker himself. Dracula also forced Harker to write more letters to his lover Mina for her to believe that he will stay in the Castle for more time. Dracula eventually broke Harker's neck and turned him into a vampire, offering him a chance to become his bride if he would stay by his side, but Harker refused and jumped from the castle. He was then considered insane and taken to a convent owned by Sister Agatha Van Helsing. After killing Harker and the entire convent, Dracula kidnapps Agatha and sails for London in the Demeter.

He also hire Captain Sokolov and the Demeter crew to transport him and his private cargo by sea to London; Agatha Van Helsing as his blood slave, and the soil of Transylvania in large wooden boxes to the port of Varna. He eventually talked to Agatha in her mind using his psychic powers and created a fog in the ship to avoid sunlight, killing the passagers one for one.

Upon discovering that Dracula is his mysterious associate, Lord Ruthven decides to surrender his attraction to him and offers Dr. Sharma and his daughter Yamini over to him. With death looming over the two, Yamini drinks her father's poison, killing herself instantly. Ruthven kills Sharma shortly after, but is later killed by Dracula in order to inherit his money and status.

“ | Dracula, who won't stand revealed in the sunlight, who cannot enter a home without invitation. These aren't curses. They are merely habits that become fetishes that become legends that even you believe. | „ |

“ | Science is the future, Agatha. And yet you still fear the cross. Of course I do. Everyone does, that's the problem. It's not a symbol of virtue and kindness, it's a mark of horror and oppression. Your idiot Church has terrorised the peasant population for centuries, and I have been imbibing the blood of those same peasants for so long I have absorbed their fear of the cross. My God, I can't wait to eat some atheists. |
