Dragotron is the main antagonist of the Japanese Transformers anime, Transformers Go!. He was also known as the "Demon Emperor" due to his vicious and terrifying personality. He was also a leader of the Predacons, a team of evil dragon robots.
In the past, Dragotron and his Predacons brethren were originally created by the Decepticon scientist called Shockwave in a hope of molding them into an army for the Decepticons. However, Dragotron and his army rebelled against the Decepticon masters and scattered across the universe. Taking notice of the planet called Earth, Dragotron and his band of Predacons decided to attack Earth, only to be defeated by the alliance of both Autobots and Decepticons, resulting them to be sealed away in the depth of Earth with the use of the mysterious Legendisc.
He is portrayed by Yōji Ueda.
Biography[]
Dragotron was originally sealed up by a blue Legendisc atop Mount Fuji in Japan, where he remained until a youngster threw a wayward rock, triggering a chain reaction that excavated Dragotron's skull. After appearing to awaken, he summoned his Four Oni servants, Bakudora, Budora, Gaidora, and Judora, from their sleep. The four then headed off in search of the remaining four Legendiscs.
The Predacons soon recovered Dragotron from the volcano, but he remained unconscious. Budora and Bakudora discovered the Legendiscs' time travel ability and utilized the Legendisc within Dragotron to travel to Japan's past in search of another Legendisc. Budora considered using the Legendisc to conquer history for himself, but abandoned the notion as Gaidora questioned Budora's loyalty. However, both of them were vanquished by the Swordbot Samurai Team, who had also traveled through time to find the Legendisc. Meanwhile, the other two Predacons, Gaidora and Judora, utilized Dragotron's Legendisc to travel back in time in search of another Legendisc, but were defeated by the Swordbot Shinobi Team, who were also time-displaced.
Later, Optimus Prime, the Autobots' Commander, sensed Dragotron's power building, predicting that his inevitable rebirth was imminent, and ordered the Swordbots to capture all of the Legendiscs as quickly as possible. Dragotron's power, on the other hand, continued to grow exponentially, to the point where his unconscious body began to glow with power and emit bolts of energy, one of which struck Gaidora, who was empowered by this sudden boost of energy and later wielded it in combat against the Samurai Team, absorbing the Jaki into his body to grow giant-sized after traveling once more into the past. However, his Swordbot opponents finally overwhelmed and killed Gaidora, reducing him to his usual size and returning both him and Judora to the present. Dragontron would further power up Budora and Judora before fully awakening and unexpectedly emerging from underground, later transforming into a red-based form and vowing to defeat the Swordbots and rule the world once and for all.
Dragotron then engaged the Swordbots in battle, easily defeating them and transforming Optimus Prime into Optimus Exprime, who joined the conflict. Despite the Autobot leader's assistance, Dragotron remained too much for the Autobots. The Autobots' allies, Isami Tatewaki and Tobio Fūma, were abducted and taken to Mount Fuji, where he assimilated them and the four legendiscs they carried, earning the power to cyberform the mountain and eventually the entire planet. Isami and Tobio managed to escape themselves from Dragotron's body, but he then absorbed the power of the four Oni, making him invincible. Until it was revealed that Tobio and Isami had recreated the Legendiscs' power in the hearts of justice, allowing Optimus to merge with Kenzan and Gekisoumaru. The Autobots' new united form was powerful enough to defeat Dragotron and use the Legendiscs to seal the Predacons away again.
