Drew is the main protagonist of the 2015 YouTube educational short film "Active Shooter Video" by Roger Hart, made with a purpose to teach people what to do and not to do during a school shooting that the video simulates.
He is a student of Shellburn High School who planned its shooting after feeling tortured and neglected by the other students and being cheated on by his ex-girlfriend Lauren, whom he would kill alongside Josh during his shooting.
He was portrayed by Khayman Bradford.
Biography[]
Drew was an ordinary student at Shellburn High School. He records a video with his then-girlfriend Lauren, discussing if the school's lunches are good or not. However, Lauren said she had a "business meeting" to attend. Drew says he is stuck in the hallway until she finishes, but notices Lauren cheating on him with Josh and Drew threatens to kill him. Josh wasn't afraid of Drew's threats, but Lauren says he doesn't understand him. At night, Drew records a video contemplating about his plans to shoot up Shellburn High to make the students feel the same pain he did.
Drew arrives at school the next day with a duffel bag, entering an empty classroom where he brings out an AK-47. When walking up the stairs, Drew begins his murder spree when he kills a student carrying a notebook. The principal overhears the gunshot and alerts the school so it could go on lockdown and has the vice principal call the police. Another student overhears Drew killing more students and escapes the building. Drew notices other students trapped in the hallway and kills all of them.
Another student named Casey is also trapped in the hallway, begging Miss Peterson to let him in. She refuses as it will put everyone in danger, but Jennifer says he will die if she doesn't. The teacher reluctantly agrees and tells everyone not to move, but Drew was right around the corner. He kills Casey and Miss Peterson and then enters the classroom to kill the rest of the students. The policemen enter the building to find Drew while the surviving students make their escape.
Drew finds Lauren and Josh, and Josh is killed by him when he and Lauren attempt to flee. Drew holds Lauren at gunpoint, accusing her of betraying him while she begs for mercy, but an angry Drew rejects Lauren's pleas and shoots her. Right as he attempts to commit suicide, Drew is killed by the police who open fire on him. After Drew's death, the surviving students are escorted out of the building, followed by a news coverage stating Drew's identity is not yet revealed until more information becomes available.
Personality[]
Prior to Lauren cheating on him, Drew was an ordinary student at Shellburn High, but also felt like an outcast by his peers, given Lauren was likely his only friend. As a result, he became vengeful and psychopathic, killing as many students and teachers as possible to make them feel the same pain and shows no remorse, even when his victims beg for mercy. Underneath this vengeance is an insecure and traumatized individual experiencing a crisis about his role in society, wanting to commit suicide as a way to get rid of his psychological pain.
