Driller is a worm-like Decepticon who appeared in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. It is Shockwave's pet that defends him at all times.
History
Years before the events of the first film, Shockwave and his pet Driller arrived on Earth millions of years ago thus placing them into stasis mode. They were later discovered by the Russians and a facility was upon to contain them. The Driller and its master manages to escape this years later, thus being the cause of the Chernobyl disaster, hiding in the remains of the facility. The Autobots Optimus Prime and Rachet, alongside with NEST, led by Decepticon agent Alexi Voskhod, guides them Chernobyl, where the Driller attacked them. After a brief fight, Optimus manages to cut a tentacle of the beast to retrieve the fuel cell of the Ark. Afterwards, the Driller then reveals its master, Shockwave then retreated underground afterwards, leaving the Autobot leader distrubed to see them.
The Driller, alongside with its master, were among the Decepticons who invaded Chicago, proving it to be a threat from below. It manages to separate Optimus from his trailer before parting ways with its master. After Shockwave manages to discover humans consisting of Sam Witwicky, Carly Spencer, Robert Epps and their team hiding on an abandoned Willis Tower, Shockwave summons the Driller to kill them all. Unfortunately, Optimus Prime came to rescue them by killing the Driller using his flight gear, leaving Shockwave furious with his pet's death that he avenged it by shooting down Optimus until he gets tangled by tower crane wires atop a construction building.
