Dryken is a Wicked Dragon created by Ryuuwon and the Jaryuu Clan and the secondary antagonist in episode 7 of GoGo Sentai Boukenger.

Biography[]

Dryken was originally the sole survivor of a group of Dragonoid Soldiers that Ryuuwon had duel each other to the death to decide which was strongest to become a Wicked Dragon. Upon emerging, the Dragonoid Soldier was stabbed by Ryuuwon and transmutated into the Wicked Dragon Dryken.

Dryken was used by Ryuuwon in a scheme to obtain the Scale of the Salamander, with which he planned to use to transform Dryken into an even more powerful giant dragon. Dryken and Ryuuwon assaulted a SGS armored car carrying the Scale and were able to obtain it despite the Boukengers' interference. They then went to an abandoned factory, where Ryuuwon raised the temperature of the factory to 2000 degrees in order to transfer the Scale's power into Dryken. However, the Boukengers were able to snatch the Scale in time before the Jaryuu could harness its power. The scale would then ironically be used to defeat Dryken when Chief, the BoukenRed used it to power the AccelTector, encasing Dryken in concrete with Mixer Head before using the Drill Head to destroy him.

Personality[]

Unlike the later Wicked Dragons in the series, Dryken lacks the ability to speak and only communicates in roar. However, despite his limited intelligence and lack of the ability to speak, he was shown to be faithful to Ryuuwon and loyally served him and helped him with his goals. He loyally followed Ryuuwon in his plan to enhance his strength and abilities and loyally did all of his orders. He was also shown to be stubborn and determined to destroy the Boukengers to impress his master.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Fireball: Dryken can shoot a fireball from its mouth.
  • Strength: In a single blow, Dryken can punch a hole into the back of a delivery truck.
  • Durability: Dryken's natural armor is durable enough to shrug off attacks from the Boukenger's personal weapons, despite that, there is a weak spot at the back, which is unarmored.

Arsenal[]

  • Scimitar: This Dragonoid Jaryuu soldier still possesses a scimitar like the previous Lava Lizards before.
  • Energy Empowerment: Unlike the Dragonoid Jaryuu soldiers previously, this Dragonoid Jaryuu soldier can charge up his scimitar with orange energy and slash at full force toward the enemy.

Weaknesses[]

  • Back: Dryken's unarmored back is a vulnerable weak spot that opponents can exploit.

Trivia[]

  • Dryken is the only Wicked Dragon to lack speech capabilites.
