| “ | You're fighting a war nobody gives a shit about. You're so aggressive, so indignant. Oh-oh-oh, and there's a warrant out for your arrest. | „ |
| ~ Dušan Nemec to Marcus Holloway. |
| “ | Guess what, Marcus? GUESS WHAT?! The people, they don't care how it works, only that it does! | „ |
| ~ Dušan Nemec |
Dušan Nemec is one of the main antagonists of the Watch Dogs franchise.
He's Blume Corporation's CTO (Chief Technology Officer) who has ultimate control over CTOS 2.0, and as a result, the entirety of San Francisco, in which he plans to benefit a monopoly for his own personal gain without being interfered by Dedsec operatives sabotaging his plans.
He serves as the archenemy to two DedSec SF members, particularly both Marcus Holloway and the latter's best friend, Wrench.
He was voiced by Christopher Jacot, who also played Maurice Vega in the 2014 video game Watch Dogs and Ben Meyers in Smallville.
Personality[]
Dušan Nemec is a Yugoslavian-American multi-billionaire who resides in San Francisco, California. Nemec is a highly ruthless, (mostly) brilliant, and manipulative individual who acts as Marcus Holloway's archenemy. Dušan, having ultimate control over ctOS 2.0, has used it multiple times in order to amass wealth and power for himself.
He greatly enjoys feeling a sense of power over others, this can be seen in his behavior when interacting with Marcus, as he constantly flexes the fact that he duped DedSec into serving as a glorified marketing campaign for ctOS 2.0 without their knowledge. Judging from his behavior, he seemed to be an extremely egotistic individual who, at all times, feels like he has the upper hand in any conflict he's involved in.
Dušan's also known for having sudden outbursts whenever something doesn't work out for him, surprising considering how calm he seems to be most of the time.
Biography[]
Nemec was born in Yugoslavia around the 1990s, as a child, he was always interested with technology, idolizing Silicon Valley programmers, even learning programming himself. He loved the digital world, spending the lot of his childhood on chat forums, preferring digital forms of communication over physical ones.
By the time he grew up, a combination of his skills and charisma got him promoted to the CTO of Blume. From there, he had absolute access to CTOS and all of Blume's resources.
Watch Dogs 2[]
Nemec, seeking to boost ctOS 2.0's sales in order to amass wealth for himself, employs an army of dead !NViTE accounts to fluff up DedSec's follower count, which compels them to act more aggressive towards corrupt corporate entities, thus allowing him to advertise ctOS 2.0 to Silicon Valley as a defense system against those he encouraged to attack them.
Dušan encountered Marcus once again in the main operation, Looking Glass, where he takes the opportunity to brag about how "smart" he is, by revealing his exploitation of DedSec's eagerness to expose corporate corruption to the hacker. Nemec then proceeds to call the SFPD, in addition to issuing a warrant of arrest, on Marcus.
Dušan was also a man of many plans, with one of his more ambitious ones being the utilization of Bellwether in order to control the World's populace. Most of the illegal operations he involves himself in during Watch Dogs 2 were actually part of a greater plan to strengthen Bellwether by feeding it data, which he went about by selling ctOS 2.0 to Silicon Valley business entities and establishing a data monopoly through the creation of a Blume satellite backbone, which was only possible with Galilei's assistance.
With the war against the surging groups despite his best efforts, In parts both Wrench manages to infiltrate into Blume's headquarters after a bit of brainstorming along with Raymond Kenny and Marcus using Junior as a EMP Backdoor capable of resetting and collecting enough to get back at Dusan.
In the end, DedSec exposed his manipulative schemes to the public and he was arrested. Having many accounts of fraud under his name, his immense wealth was confiscated and he was sentenced to prison for a very long time.
Watch Dogs: Legion - Bloodline[]
In 2029, Wrench left San Francisco to go London after finding out that Businessman Thomas Rempart, betrayed him and stole his robots and ideas, which also led him to meet Chicago vigilante Aiden Pearce. After the events, Wrench gets to spend the time his friend Marcus Holloway, who gives him contracts to do.
While not directly, but Nemec was often indirectly talked about by both Marcus and Wrench, indicating they have not forgotten about him.
