Du Jue is a bandit leader and a major antagonist in the 2016 Chinese series God of War Zhao Yun/Chinese Hero Zhao Zilong, loosely based on the 14th century classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms and it's multiple adaptations.
He was portrayed by Du Yiheng.
Biography[]
Du Jue was the eldest of a group of brother and the leader of a group of bandits who terrorized villages during the period of Dong Zhuo's rule. He was a highly skilled warrior and a ruthless bandit who's reputation even made him feared among officials and military men. Around 190 AD, his third brother and some other bandits attacked and kidnapped a young girl named Zhao Shimei, in order to take advantage of her. A warrior named Zhao Yun who was wearing a mask and using the alias of the Iron-Masked Warrior saved her and killed the third brother. When Due Jue learned of his younger brother's death, he became infuriated and swore to find who the masked warrior was and avenge his brother so he had his men attack villages and interrogate people in order to find his whereabouts.
His second brother, and second in command of the bandits encountered Zhao Yun's friend Liu Shen who was possessing himself as the masked warrior in order to save Li Feiyan, the daughter of his and Zhao Yun's teacher Li Quan, who was kidnapped by the bandits. Liu Shen managed to save her but was heavily injured in the process. Some years later, Zhao Yun saved another girl that was kidnapped by them, the daughter of the warlord Gongsun Zan, Baoyue. Eventually, Zhao Yun was identified as the iron masked warrior which led to a mass attack by the bandits in Zhen Ding Country were he and his friends lived. Unable to face all the bandits by themselves and the few volunteers from the village, Zhao Yun and his friends joined forces with their rivals Gao Ze, Xiahou Jie, and Geng Chun who reinforced them with soldiers. After a bloody battle, Du Jue's second brother was killed by Zhao Yun and Du Jue himself got his arm chopped off by him forcing the bandits to retreat. Meanwhile, Gao Ze, who hated Zhao Yun, was secretly dealing with the bandits and personally met with Due Jue in order to use him to kill Zhao Yun. In 192 AD The bandits attacked once again and Du Jue got killed by Zhao Yun ending the bandit terror once and for all.
