Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about Dudley Lynch's past, but he was born in 1914 in the United States to unnamed parents. Around the 1940s, Dudley was hired by Leroy Sabo to bartend Ray's Cafe and to run it when he wasn't around. While serving patrons at the bar, Lynch observed the numerous spats between the married couple Lester and Lorna Pattinson, as they would reveal their dirty laundry to the public. Due to his observant nature, he overheard Lorna speaking with Leroy about their plan to open a new bar, but wasn't aware of their plan to murder Lester to obtain his life insurance money to do so.
L.A. Noire[]
After Lester's death, the Los Angeles Police Department sent detectives Cole Phelps and Stefan Bekowsky to investigate. Dudley remained in the bar and was questioned by Phelps, revealing Lester's and Lorna relationship, and Mrs. Pattison's plan to open a new bar with Leroy. The questioning proved fruitful to the case, as Phelps and Bekowsky discovered Leory and Loran's plot, which ended with Sabo either being killed or arrested for his crimes.
Following the case, Dudley fell in love with the aspiring actress Shannon Perry, but she focused on "drunk" losers" whom he believed were taking advantage of her. One day, Lynch saw her with another man that was with Shannon, and when he confronted her, resulted in a fight. When on the edge of the roof, Dudley punched the man in the face, causing him to fall to his death. Despite his remorse for accidently killing the man, he explained his feelings as he couldn't see her be with creeps anymore. Though she appeared to return his affection, Lynch's ran away when Phelps and Roy Earle arrived to arrest him. He then attempted to escape in a car, but was stopped and arrested for manslaughter. However, Phelps tells Dudley that he could argue for self-defense and have Shannon speak for him at his trial.
