There's no real point in explaining further, as this is the end of the line. Even if you gave up on the Forge, I'm not about to let one who's seen this manor's layout roam free. You'll make a fine addition to The Forge.
~ Duke Erisia
Duke Erisia: So you're the one running about tripping my alarms. Care to explain yourself?
The Player: Let's skip the pleasantries, you know why I'm here.
Duke Erisia: You're right, there's no reasoning with a monster like you. For Lumen's salvation, I will be the one to slay you.
~ Duke Erisia if the player is a contractor.

Duke Erisia is one of the main antagonists from the first Verse of the Roblox game Deepwoken.

The Duke is a Celtor and the ruler of the island known as Erisia. He is responsible for the island's disappearance into the Voidsea and the mass killing and kidnapping of the inhabitants.

He's portrayed by Laurence Anthony, also known as Naktigonis, the game's composer

Biography[]

Before Year 1271[]

Duke Erisia was once the benevolent ruler of the island Erisia, having discovered it and claimed it as his own, after he witnessed the destruction of his home nation of Celtor at the hands of another scheme concocted by The Ministry. He was sent to the Depths in his lifetime, running into a near death experience that awoke his Resonance. He used his ability to create Golems out of stone from the island's quarry to benefit his people. His people were aware of a location known as The Temple of The Forgotten Flame, a mysterious temple guarded by 'God on The Peak,' a monster that summoned Lesser Angels to protect it and he took interest in whatever secrets the temple housed. Eventually, he managed to sneak past the creature and extract an ancient relic from inside the temple, The Forge of Sin. Bringing it back to his mansion, Alastir, his Royal Pathfinder, noticed that he had began to act strangely. Soon losing his mind, his golems began slaughtering his people and taking those that weren't killed to the heart of the manor, where he began experimenting on them. As his island descended into chaos, it drifted into the Voidsea.

Year 1271[]

Once presumed lost forever, the island of Erisia returned to the world, and it soon became the main battleground for the war between the invading Central Authority and the native Kingdom of Etrea. The ruler of Etrea, The Lord Regent, also took an interest in The Forge of Sin, as well as similar artifacts being sought after by the neighbouring Hive faction. Though large fragments of The Forge had been found by adventurers and his infantry across Erisia, he still required the real thing. At some point, he would come into possession of the key to The Duke's manor, tasking some adventurers that had found favor with the Etrean people to get the Duke out of the way so he could retrieve the Forge.

Having fought their way through the Burning Stone Gardens that surrounded the manor, and through the halls guarded by the most powerful versions of The Duke's golems and the husks of the victims of his experiments, they soon came face to face with The Duke himself. Almost insulted that the Regent had not come personally to take the Forge, the Duke realised what he was faced with where not agents but merely adventurers the Lord Regent had recruited. Bursting into laughter, he noted that Etrea's prospects were 'grim' but refused to elaborate further, as he was going to kill them all as they risked revealing the mansion's secrets. Though he put up a fight, he was defeated, screaming that the adventurers had no idea what they were doing and that they risked letting the horrors that happened to the city of Celtor repeat before being killed.
