Dumb Drum is the fifth boss of Donkey Kong Country. A larger version of the Oil Drum, it works under King K. Rool's command.
Biography[]
The fifth boss of Donkey Kong Country, Dumb Drum is shown floating above both Donkey and Diddy his first attack is that Dumb Drum falls onto the ground in an attempt to crush them both Dumb Drum will do this for a number of times until Dumb Drum moves onto his second attack and as the boss battle progresses Dumb Drum will speed up his attacks, in his second attack Dumb Drum will start to go in the top of the screen and shake rapidly dropping two of the same enemies (Kritters, Slippas, Klaptraps, Klumps, and finally Armies) the Kongs must defeat these to defeat Dumb Drum himself, Dumb Drum will then fall for the final time before exploding and being defeated. In the GBA port of the game, the Kongs can actually attack Dumb Drum and not just his henchman, every time the duo of enemies are defeated a TNT barrel will spawn in and Dumb Drum will non-stop trying to crush the Kongs until the barrel is thrown at him.
Appearance[]
Dumb Drum (and every other boss in the game excluding King K. Rool) is a recolor of a regular enemy counterpart, Dumb Drum's being the Oil Drum. Dumb Drum's difference to the Oil Drum are very minimal being a black barrel with a painted pair of skull and crossbones, Dumb Drum's only difference is him being noticeably larger and the skull and crossbones have red glowing eyes unlike the Oil Drums who just have gray eyes.
Trivia[]
- For some reason in the GBA port, Dumb Drum no longer speeds up when trying to crush the Kongs and summons the same enemies over and over again.
