He's like the anti-Dr. Zomboss! He's humble, red and just perfect!
~ Hugh D. Votee, referring to Dummy.
Dummies are getting hurt! Don't go getting smart on me now...
~ Dummy, communicating telepathically with the player, warning them of plants attacking the point.

The Dummy Cult is a cult of zombies who can be found in the abandoned Z-Tech Factory of the Weirding Woods story mode quest of Plants vs, Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. The Dummy cult is comprised of a group of four zombies, including Tim, Cleatus, Hugh D. Votee and the player. They follow the Dummy, an ethereal being that communicates to the player telepathically and gains followers through it's dumbness philosophy.

Notable Members[]

Dummy[]

Dummy is first introduced by Cleatus as being swallowed by Dreadwood in the first mission, Be Kind Rewind. Cleatus tells the player to insert the broken Lullaby tape into a washing machine named Washy, at Camp Near-a-Lake. The player then needs to play the Lullaby tape in the Divine Boombox in order put Dreadwood to sleep and free Dummy. Once freed Tim declares that the cult can return to being dumb once again. Dummy is considered the dumbest thing and place on Earth. It communicates to the player telepathically in what is likely a dream/hallucination and instructs them to help it in order to receive the Sacred Batteries, as a part of the zombie side's story mode quests. In the first mission, it instructs the player to defeat multiple plants and the Squash, in order to receive the Sacred Batteries, which can be used to fuel the Divine Boombox. It's final task involves the Dummy growing to an immense size and instructing the player to defeat plants on it's surface.

Trivia[]

  • Dummy appears identical to the All-Star's dummy shield.
  • Dummy used to belong to a cult member named Cleatus. This is referenced by many cult members (including Cleatus himself).

Tim[]

TergelHeim

Tim.

Tim is a wizard zombie and the most influential member, other than Dummy himself. Tim prides himself on being extremely dumb and serves as way for the player to be introduced to the cult. Tim does not have a large prominence in the story however, he does inform the player to defeat the Dreadroot, so the cult "can be dumb again".

Trivia[]

  • Tim's chat icon lacks his eyebrows.
  • Tim's model accidently leaked the wizard character before it's release, as the two share the same model.

Hugh D. Votee[]

Hugh

Hugh D. Votee.

Hugh D. Votee proclaims himself to be Dummy's "#1 follower" and has the greatest prominence to the story of all the cult members. In Hugh's mission, Become One with the Dumb, he hits the player over the head with a mirror, claiming that it will "open their eyes". After this the player must complete an assortment of Dummy's quests, in order to be deemed worthy of the Sacred Batteries. During this mission, Dummy becomes sentient and speaks telepathically. This is played as a result of battery from the mirror however, the effects are remnant of an LSD or Marijuana trip.

Trivia[]

  • His name is a play on 'Huge Devotee" due to his obsession with Dummy and the cult.
  • He uses the same model as the Engineer.

Cleatus[]

Cleatus

Cleatus.

Cleatus is the first of the Dummy cult that the player meets. He tells the player that Dummy left him in order to start the cult, but got eaten by Dreadwood. He then tells the player that he has the Lullaby tape required to put Dreadwood to sleep and save Dummy, but it got severely "mixed up" on his way back from stealing it from the Plants. His solution is to insert the tape into a washing machine on the grounds of Camp Near-a-Lake named Washy. Once the tape is fixed and inserted into the Divine Boombox, the mission will end and Dreadwood falls asleep.

Trivia[]

  • Cleatus met Dummy when he worked at the Z-Tech Factory, before it was destroyed.
  • When telling the player of the quest, Cleatus is on the brink of tears, as his "BFF" is missing.
  • He uses the same model as the All-Star.
  • His name is a play on the common sports footwear; cleats.
