~ Danny's signature phrase. |
Dustbowl Danny is a supporting antagonist in The Hex. He was presumably supposed to be a major antagonist in Waste World.
Personality[]
Dustbowl Danny is a snarky figure, tending to tease the player characters when they fail to outsmart him. He often has a disarming demeanor, speaking gleefully to Rust when introducing him to boss rush mode. He can fumble over his words at times. He is described as being a menace back in the day.
Biography[]
Waste World[]
Danny was intended to be fought at the end of the dunes area, and presumably, Rust eventually fights him. However, shortly after Rust is transported to Carla51's boss rush mod, they encounter him once again as he appears quite literally unarmed. He welcomes them to the mod much to their confusion, as Rust and Rocky soon realize they need to kill him. When the heroes engage in battle with him, the player needs to carefully take out his gunbots one by one, or corner him to a point where the player can use cheats to finish the job. Attempting to shoot him directly causes him to switch with another gunbot. This is always indicated by the gunbot wearing a hat. Once he is defeated, all gunbots in the area flee. It's possible given the Vurm's fate, that he isn't really killed, but he is never seen in-person again throughout the game.
Vicious Galaxy[]
The Gameworks uses the "D.A.N.N.Y." method to protect the NPC detention center, as gunbots surround the place to hinder Lazarus from reaching Sado. Each time Lazarus is shot by a gunbot, a screen depicting Danny's face oinks out in laughter to taunt the player.
Six Pint Inn[]
Danny is mentioned by Rust in some dialogue, the first appearance of him in the game is when Rust reaches his room and much to his bewilderment, a statue of Danny's face is there, bringing back memories.
