Biography[]
Background[]
Dylan was born into a family consisting of an unnamed mother and older sister Carol. Little is known about his childhood, but it appears that he shared a bedroom with his sister and would regularly be punished by their abusive mother for drawing on the walls by getting locked in the closet.
Carol's mother, in need of money, was secretly pimping her daughter out to grown men. Fed up with the abuse, Carol lit the house on fire one night while everyone was asleep and got out unscathed successfully killing their mother. Dylan also escaped but was badly injured in the housefire with the doctor stating that he had suffered severe facial burns, lung damage, and possibly permanent brain damage.
After recovering from the hospital, Dylan was forced to wear a mask to hide his disfigurements and was taken by a social worker to go and live with a reclusive farmer named Mr. Miller. Unknown to anyone, Mr. Miller was in fact a psychotic cannibal who had been responsible for various disappearances in and around the area. Though Dylan was initially disgusted and scared of the old man's depraved tastes, he gradually began to grow to like the taste of human flesh and began to help the man in abducting people and keeping them captive so as to ensure that their meat remained fresh for consumption later on. Eventually, Mr. Miller either died or was captured, leaving Dylan to continue his murderous activities alone.
Deadly Nights[]
One night, a woman named Carol was forced to stay at a roadside motel for the night after getting into a fight with her boyfriend. Though creeped out by the sexually predative behavior of the motel owner Mr. Shiney, Carol is left with no other option but to rent a room for the night and takes a shower before going to bed. After having a nightmare about a mysterious fire and a baby named Dylan, Carol awoke and was disgusted to discover that the mirrors of her apartment were hiding cameras that had been set up by Mr. Shiney for pornographic reasons. Furious by this discovery, she goes down to the motel reception to confront him but finds that he's not there. Taking the opportunity to call the police and report the incident, Carol then decides to explore the backroom and discovers multiple cameras and video tapes of previous tenants having sex including a video of Carol in the shower. Before Carol can decide what to do with the tapes, Mr. Shiney shows up. After she tells him that she had called the police, he locks her in the room and threatens that he plans to rape her after the police have left before he goes to remove the cameras from her apartment.
Carol is able to escape the room and decides to go back to her apartment to retrieve her backpack whilst narrowly missing a black van that had been parked in the motel carpark. Going up to the apartment, Carol enters the bathroom where she had left her backpack and is horrified to discover Mr. Shiney's corpse has been impaled through the wall. Terrified, she flees the apartment and tries to run down the road but is nearly run down by the black van that had turned around and followed her.
Trivia[]
- Its currently unknown if Dylan was ever aware that the woman he was hunting in the game, was his older sister. It's possible that he did know or eventually figured it out as the game goes through a flashback of Dylan and Carol's childhoods. Though it remains ambiguous and open to interpretation as to whether or not it was Carol or Dylan having the flashback.
- Given that Carol seemingly didn't recognize the house that she'd been taken to after making it outside, it's entirely possible that the Carol seen standing next to Dylan and the social worker in the flashback was in fact a hallucination on Dylan's part. Implying that Dylan and Carol may have been separated and taken to different foster homes after leaving the hospital.
