"Easy Andy" is a minor character in Martin Scorsese's 1976 psychological crime thriller Taxi Driver. He is a traveling black market gun dealer and drug seller who provides Travis Bickle, an aspiring vigilante, with various firearms.

He is played by Steven Prince.

Biography[]

Pre-1976[]

Some time before 1976, Easy Andy became a black market gun salesman throughout the United States. It is unknown when he became associates or, at least, friends with an unnamed taxicab driver, but they do have connections to each other.

1976[]

In 1976, the unnamed taxi driver gave fellow taxicab driver, Travis Bickle, Andy's number in order for Travis to order guns. When they enter the apartment, Andy tells Travis about the abilities of the guns and also the prices. During the scene, Travis buys a .44 Magnum pistol, based on his interaction with an unnamed man, who talked about killing his wife with a .44 Magnum. Unknown to Andy, Travis' purchases of the guns would lead to his rampage, where he murdered Charles "Sport" Rain, Anthony Sciloso and an unnamed man in order to save child prostitute, Iris Steensma. It is unknown if Andy ever heard of the rampage, due to his travelling."

Trivia[]

Andy will ask Travis after buying the guns if he wanted to buy explosives showing that he has a large arsenal not only of guns but also of explosives and finally in addition to the drugs he asked Travis if he also wanted a car, it is not known if the car is stolen or if Andy has it legally but the way he was trying to sell it could be implied a traffic of stolen cars.
