| ~ Edgar Munsen about Bullworth. |
Edgar Munsen is one of the secondary antagonists in 2006 video game Bully.
He is the leader of the Townies clique and is partly responsible for the chaos that unfolds during the final events at Bullworth Academy, working indirectly alongside Gary Smith. While Gary manipulates events from within the school, Edgar and the Townies apply outside pressure by sabotaging school property and attacking students. Though initially hostile toward Jimmy Hopkins, believing him to be just another pawn of the corrupt school system, Edgar eventually learns the truth about Gary’s manipulations. After a confrontation with Jimmy in the Townies' junkyard hideout, Edgar realizes they share a common goal and ultimately allies with him to bring down Gary and restore order to Bullworth.
He was voiced by Jan Milewicz.
Biography[]
Edgar lives in Bullworth Town, and he is the leader of the Townies. Unlike some other Townies, he never attended to the academy for his parents couldn't afford to send him to Bullworth Academy, and he's resented the school ever since. He is the responsible of getting Johnny Vincent enrolled in the Asylum, releasing rats into the Bullworth library, setting the Gymnasium on fire, and stealing the Preppies' trophies, however he never makes an appearance, sending his thugs instead.
After he is mentioned after the incidents in the academy, Jimmy is forced by Edgar to chase him across a maze of pipes and rickety staircases, before the latter attacking him with a steel pipe. After he is beaten by Jimmy, Edgar reveals that Gary was the true responsible of the incident and he is manipulated by him with false pretenses of taking over the school together. He later decides to help Jimmy as he is "ok".
He is later seen with his fellow Townies, accompanying Jimmy and Russell to stop the Bullworth riot. He is seen in the havoc having easily knocked out three of the Bullies - Trent, Davis and Ethan - entirely on his own. He is also seen among the group of students who cheer for Jimmy after he beats Gary.
Physical Appearance[]
Edgar is a tall, muscular, and dark skinned teenager with short dark brown hair, brown eyes, and a large scar on his left eye. He typically wears an orange button shirt buttoned only at the top over a dark green t-shirt with dark brown cargo pants and shoes. He also has a tattoos (which can’t be seen in winter) on each arm.
Personality[]
Due to his limited cutscene appearances and the fact that he doesn't attend Bullworth Academy, Edgar remains one of the more enigmatic and underexplored characters in the game. The only confirmed detail about his background is that his parents couldn't afford to send him to Bullworth, which led to a deep-seated resentment toward the institution and its students. Like Jimmy, Edgar was manipulated by Gary Smith—used as a tool in Gary's scheme to destabilize the school—before ultimately being betrayed. This shared betrayal forms the foundation of his later alliance with Jimmy.
Most of Edgar's dialogue suggests he genuinely enjoys fighting—not just as a means of dominance, but as a sport or test of strength. He often shows respect to those who best him in combat, even going so far as to congratulate his opponent for putting up a good fight. This trait gives him a unique sense of honor, despite his rough exterior and role as a gang leader.
Beneath his hardened, aggressive persona, Edgar appears to be a relatively decent and pragmatic individual. He ultimately puts aside his personal grudges against Bullworth to help Jimmy restore peace, showing that he values justice and integrity over revenge. This is further evidenced by his behavior during Dodgeball games, where—if defeated—he willingly acknowledges the other team's superiority rather than making excuses or lashing out.
In terms of gameplay, Edgar is one of the tougher non-boss characters. He is capable of holding his own against elite fighters from other cliques, such as Derby, Bif, and Johnny, thanks to his aggressive AI and high health. However, he is still not quite as powerful as Russell, the game's most physically dominant character. Edgar’s most frequent insult in the game is the word “bitch,” reflecting his blunt and confrontational style of speech.
