Edmundo is the main antagonist of the Cartoon Network Brazilian comedy horror television series Haunted Tales For Wicked Kids created by Victor-Hugo Vorges serving as the main antagonist of the series and its film adaptation ''Haunted Tales: The Movie".
He is the sole survivor of his species after it went extinct thanks to failing to use the youth of the infant Pepe to keep living, deeming him for dead after his mother supposedly dropped him in the river. 10 years later he would find out Pepe was actually still alive and young enough for him to use as a tool to bring his family back to life, with his ultimate goal being to use him as a sacrifice for his family.
He was voiced by Hélio Ribeiro, who also voiced Joker from DC Black in the Brazilian dub.
Appearance[]
Edmundo is a short man who has pale blue skin, and yellow eyes with red irises. He has ears similar to those of a cow, green hair arranged in the shape of a "horn" with bangs that cover his left eye. His eyebrows are black and thick, he has a red nose, sharp teeth and some parts of his body have been replaced by metallic objects, such as his internal organs, his left leg, his eye and his right arm.
He wears a brown hooded tunic and a black coat underneath, along with pants and boots of the same color.
Personality[]
Described as arrogant and cunning, Edmundo can be considered a real threat to Pepe and his friends, as despite being somewhat clumsy, he is a brilliant inventor and talented scientist capable of creating machines that are able to completely nullify magic itself, he also has access to a music box that can open portals through different places and dimensions, with his great intellect being what mainly kept his family and species alive for many years.
Edmundo is shown to be a very mischievous, childish and arrogant person, who constantly brags about his skills and intelligence as an inventor to other characters like Grandma, he also tends to lose his temper when things don't go his way, such as when he failed multiple times to destroy a bottle that hit him in the face or when he finds out the Pepe he kidnapped was actually a cat, he also shows a sadistic side that is demonstrated in the multiple scenes he laughs like a maniac when he discovers Pepe is still alive, when he increases the potency of The Magic Nullificator to torture Grandma and make her work for him and laughing while doing so, and the joy and glee he gets when he plays the accordion to bring back his family while laughing in the process, and the whole song he sings about his family's story.
Despite what one may think of him because of usual behavior around others, Edmundo is actually someone honorable who always keeps his part of the deal if one is made, this is seen when he refused to take all of Pepe's youth like his family wanted since he gave him his word of just taking a little of his youth, or when he's willing to give his prisoners/slaves small breaks for a snack before continuing working. He's also shown to be capable of loving and caring for people, including making new friendships as seen with Cat Pepe, who he at first confused with the real one and was going to use him as a the sacrifice instead, but after hearing Edmundo's song The Cat decided to side with him and motivate him to continue his quest by telling him the real Pepe's direction, which in turn makes Edmundo appreciate him as a friend and even takes him with him, this friendship would be get stronger and stronger to the point they care about eachother's wellbeing, he also has a soft spot for his family and wanted to do everything in his power to bring them back despite how they treated him in the past, even after betraying and confronting his father in the climax of the movie, he was seen with a sad look on his face, meaning that despite the abuse he put him through, Edmundo still loved his father.
Although Edmundo shows himself to have a mischievous and childishly machiavellian personality, he was never necessarily someone who was born evil, but rather it is left clear in the film he simply denied his purest feelings of affection and the desire to be loved by his parents through reasons in which he repeated to himself in order to convince himself that he was truly evil and alien, but even his best efforts to prove himself as useful to his family are dismissed like nothing. After Marilu is thrown at Edmundo, he tells her that he has issues with his father and Marilu tells him that she also has issues with her parents who are critical of her actions, and he soon understands how Marilu feels and takes the courage to confront his father.
However, at the end of the film, after making friends with Pepe and his friends, Edmundo becomes a friendlier and less perverse person and possibly even going on a path of redemption as he goes with his friend to explore different places of the world.

A long time ago, during the 1800's there was once a normal family like the others, but one of their members, who was one of the youngest and a brilliant scientist and inventor called Edmundo, knowing one day they would all eventually perish, he came up with an idea to "cheat death" and live forever. The idea was very simple, all they had to do was change little by little pieces of their meat by longer-lasting portions such as metal, that way it would ensure their survival for several decades. Unfortunately for them this also couldn't last forever, they needed something else, something inexplicable, the scientist who came up with this idea discovered that the way to live forever was to use the youth of their children, with this in mind he created a machine capable of extracting the youth from children, and he started using his distant relatives as a sacrifice to keep him and his family alive forever, this would eventually extent to other relatives who also seeked immortality, thus creating a new invasive species.
Unfortunately for them they couldn't keep feeding of the youth of their children forever, and they would soon all die if they didn't steal the youth of the last of their children, which would ensure their immortality and was their only hope at this point. This species had driven itself to the blink of extinction but they wanted to keep living by stealing the youth of the last of their children, Pepe, however Pepe's parents were not happy with this and ran away with their child to save him from the others, they chased them to the forest and up to a mountain, but they managed to save him by leaving the infant Pepe in Grandma's house, Edmundo would come face to face with her and would try to do something else but he's distracted by Pepe's parents running away and his family calling for him.
After cornering them in a dead end, Edmundo's father appears before everyone and demands Pepe's parents to give him the baby, Pepe's mother, who was holding a fake replica of the original made of a pine, drops it in the river to fool them into thinking she dropped the real Pepe. Edmundo is ordered to quickly save the baby but he fails, soon after this Edmundo and his family deem the baby for dead and open a portal to a spider monster to let it take care of Pepe's parents for ruining their plans before leaving.

10 long years would happen after that incident, and all of Edmundo's species and family, except from him, had died thanks to lacking the youth of the last child they needed to live, and Edmundo had isolated himself in that tower during all that time waiting for his death. After a broken doll fell next to him and he used it's parts to fix his metallic leg, he trips with a bottle containing a paper inside, enraged by this he throws the bottle but it bounces right back at him and hits him in the face, Edmundo would use his leg to try and smash the bottle but he fails, he does multiple times again and again and still fails until he finally crushes it, after doing it he asks himself why can't his suffering end soon, until the paper that was inside the bottle gets in his face, revealing to be more than just paper, being actually a missing poster for Pepe's parents, with this making Edmundo realize he's still alive and young enough to use as a sacrifice for his family, with this mind he decides to use his portal machine to kidnap him and use him as a sacrifice.
Using the portal music box Edmundo opens a portal to Pepe's house and sneaks inside it to kidnap Pepe, after seeing Guto, Gaston and Grandma were present he opens a direct portal to Pepe's room and gets inside, after doing so he easily abducts "Pepe" but while doing it he wakes up Pepe's pet dog Ramirez, whom he struggles to get away from, this continues until the 2 kids and Grandma enter the room. After a brief conversation Grandma recognizes Edmundo and begins attacking him with her potions, Edmundo in response easily gets rid of Ramirez with his electro-magnetic metallic hand and dodges every one of Grandma's potions before ultimately escaping through a portal, to which Grandma jumps through and drags Guto with her to save Pepe.
After Grandma and Guto arrive in Edmudo's lair they come face to face with him, who runs away directly to a big machine he created, Grandma uses several of her potions at once and thros them at Edmundo as he turns on the machine. However much to her surprise Edmundo is unaffected by her potions and mockingly licks a little of them as he says that "they weren't that bad" Edmundo reveals to her that that big machine infront of them was created by himself and that nullifies any kind of magic, deeming them useless, at first he's unsure on how to call it but he finally names it "The Magic Nullifier" Grandma accuses him of inventing that name, to which he replies that it's not the case and that even if he invented it it doesn't matter as what it's important is that he nullifies her magic, claiming that that's why he's gadget inventor and not a name inventor before being corrected by Guto, who he stares at angrily.
Grandma begins approaching him while saying that just because her potions don't work anymore that doesn't mean she can't take him by herself in a confrontation, before stopping mid sentence and becoming increasingly more weak and older, Guto asks Edmundo what did he do to Pepe's grandma, but he says that he isn't doing anything and has no idea why it's happening as he just nullified her magic. But he soon reaches the conclusion that this is because she's entirely made of magic, to which he mocks her for being weak. Edmundo then opens a portal below Guto's feet and above him, trapping him in a loop where he doesn't stop falling. Shortly after he takes "Pepe" and out of the back and announces his ultimate goal of bringing back his family to become unbeatable, not before clarifying that it will take him time of course, after that he takes "Pepe" and locks him inside a locker for when the time of the ritual comes.
Edmundo takes both Grandma and Guto as his prisoners and enslaves them to make them clean all the tower until it's shining, Edmundo gives them a small break for a snack before telling them to go back to work, Grandma refuses to keep working and Edmundo sadistically laughs as he teleports next to the Magic Nullifier and increases it's intensity to torture Grandma, making her a lot more weak and older to the point she loses her color, teeth and her hearing is very damaged. After Edmundo fixes the machine of the ritual he takes both Guto and Grandma and imprisons inside a giant glass container, he tells them it's impossible to get out of there as he slowly approaches the locker where Pepe is to take him out for the ritual, but as he does he's jumped by him and has his face scratched, after ripping his shirt everyone discovers that "Pepe" was actually one of Grandma's cats and that Edmundo got the wrong one, enraged by this he destroys some of the things in his workplace.
Realizing that he got the wrong kid and that he had no idea of his whereabouts, Edmundo apologizes to his family, asking them to forgive them for his failure and saying to himself that atleast he wouldn't have to live too long with his metallic organs, he begins playing the piano and starts singing a song about his feelings and past, much to Grandma's annoyance, revealing in the song how he along with his family were mortals too before replacing most of their flesh with metallic portions to live forever, how he used the youth of several babies related him to live eternally along with his family, how he and Pepe are distant relatives and that those were the sacrifices they "paid" for immortality, and they came so close but now he's going to die alone, shedding a tear in the end of it.
He looks up to see Cat Pepe giving him a compliment about his song and motivating him to continue with his goals, bringing Edmundo his portal machine to tell him that he could find Pepe, Edmundo replies that he doesn't know if he can do it and that he needs motivation, Cat Pepe motivates him and tells him that he knows where the real Pepe is, to which Edmundo gleefully agrees and laughs maniacally as he leaves the tower along with Cat Pepe through a portal to find the real Pepe and capture him for the ritual.
Edmundo and Cat Pepe begin their quest of finding Pepe, going through different places until they reached The Crow, who gave Edmundo a meal that would give him a prophecy about his future, the prophecy telling him that he would find Pepe back at the tower, so he opens the portal to the tower while still eating his meal. He comes face to face with the real Pepe and his friends, whom they quickly attempt to attack Edmundo between all of them at the same time, but he quickly uses the portal machine to make them hit themselves, seeing this Pepe runs up the stairs to the Magic Nullifier and turns it off to give Grandma back her strength and magic.
Grandma gets back her magic and begins to use many of her potions agaisn't Edmundo, she throws at him a potion that captures the portal machine in chains deeming it unasable, Edmundo runs away scared and attempts to fight back with the metallic hands of his piano machine but they get frozen by Grandma's ice potion, he ends up cornered in a dead end and is about to get turned into cheese, but before that happens Cat Pepe pushes him aside to protect him and receives the potion for him, turning his body into cheese.
Grandma walks to Edmundo and corners him again while saying he now has no one protect him, and that he would spend the rest of eternity as an statue, but before she could petrify him Pepe tells her to stop and asks Edmundo if he knows where are his parents, Edmundo lies and tells him that he knows where they are and can even take him to them, he only needs Pepe to turn back on the Nullifier and give him a little of his youth. Grandma warns him to not be a fool and don't trust him since he's just manipulating him, but Pepe is unsure, Edmundo further elaborates in his deal by saying he also wants his family back and he will let free all his friends if he accepts.
Grandma having enough of his manipulation throws the petrification potion at Edmundo, but Pepe apologizes to her as he turns back on the Nullifier just in time before the potion hits Edmundo, preventing him from turning into stone and setting free his portal machine while Grandma is back to her weak and old state, Edmundo laughs and uses the piano to capture Pepe's friends, he assures him to not worry and that he would keep his word as long as Pepe kept his part of the deal.
Edmundo then starts to make the preparations for the machine of the ritual while laughing like a maniac the whole time, when the time comes he reassures Pepe that he will only take a little of his youth, as it will be enough for his goals, Pepe questions him how he knows if he isn't just going to lie and let him, to which Edmundo replies that he gives him his word, which to convince Pepe that is a good idea, much to their friends confusion.
Edmundo turns on the machine of the ritual and gleefully announces that he melody he's going to play with his accordion is for all of them, shortly after failing the first time he begins playing the accordion properly, putting the machine in operation. Pepe asks Edmundo if that's how it works and if it's too late to go back, but he falls to the ground as a green gas enters in his body, sucking a part of his youth, while this happens Edmundo is receiving most of Pepe's youth as he keeps playing the accordion to use the rest of his essence to wake up his family, laughing the whole time in the ritual.
After finishing the ritual Pepe is left nearly dead as most of his youth was taken from him and Edmundo's family wakes up from their deep slumber. Edmundo approaches them with joy and tells his father that it took him 10 years but he finally woke them up, however he doesn't receive the answer he was expecting as his father is nothing but ungrateful to him and claims that his younger brother would have made a better job, Edmundo's mother says that they have to wake up the rest of them but Edmundo says he just wanted to wake the three of them up and not his entire species, claiming that he reached an agreement with Pepe and gave him his word, but Brain tells him that he doesn't decide anything and takes the accordion off his hands to use it himself.
Brain tosses Marilu to Edmundo and orders him to do something right for once and restrain her while he takes care of Grandma, Marilu tells Edmundo she thought he was the boss, and who is that cruel monster, Edmundo tells her to be silent but Marilu insists, which gets Edmundo to tell her that Brain is his father and he has no other choice but to obey him, Marilu gives Edmundo a motivational talk about her parents and that he should let his parents know how he feels, which moves Edmundo enough to let her go and confront his father, turning off the Nullifier to give Grandma her strength and potions to fight agaisnt him.
Grandma would battle brain with all of her potions, using a flower potion to grow flowers in Brain's body in order to blind him or incapacitate him, using an ice potion on some of his robotic legs to prevent him from hurting her and turning one of his buzzsaws into sausages, though this unfortunately isn't enough to fully take him down as he's still able to attack with his robotic legs despite being mostly blind, this prompts Vo to use her a potion to transmute her arm into solid rock to fight back Brain's powerful buzzsaw. Brain would begin struggling to cut through Grandma's new stone arm as it is almost impossible for him to fully break.
Edmundo would remain next to the his piano machine during the whole fight just watching it, or that is until Brain destroy's Grandma stone arm and slowly approaches her to kill her with his buzzsaw, or it was going to be that way before Pepe finally came back to the tower through a portal and throwed the portal machine right at him with the help of his slingshot, destroying it completely and creating a massive portal that begins to suck everything and threatens to destroy the whole tower. Brain holds on to dear life and clings to Edmundo's leg and pathetically begs him to do something and help him, Edmundo in response tells him to don't worry as he lets Pepe's friends free and uses the mechanical arms of the piano to grab Brain, spinning him around and knocking him out of the tower with a powerful hit using a stick, all while Edmundo is saddened by his father as he keeps begging him to not do it.
The tower is about to explode and everyone is going to die, but Grandma uses the only remaining potion she has on Cat Pepe, Edmundo asks worried what is she going to do to the cat, but she tells him not to worry, as the potion is used on Cat Pepe, he transforms into a huge dragon-like monster. Grandma tells everyone to ride the new Cat Pepe to escape, allowing them to successfully fly away from the tower before it explodes, including Edmundo.
Shortly after escaping Edmundo is left shocked after everything that happened, and when Grandma asks what was he going to do now, he answers that he will now explore the whole world with his new friend since he was locked inside that tower for more than a decade, before parting ways he apologizes to Grandma in case he hurt her badly and announces to Pepe's friend if they need a ride, to which all of them say yes, and as they fly away, that ends up being Edmundo's last words in the movie and the last time he's seen, now becoming a better person and hoping to see new places with his best friend.

- Edmundo's exact age is unknown as while he appears to be young, he and his family had actually been existing for many years, to the point the only photo of them when they were human was black and white, meaning he could be hundreds of years old.
- During his song he mentions how the youth he and his family got to keep living was from their children as he mentions "our", which would mean Edmundo is a distant relative from Pepe and his parents.
